I hope Zaretzskis settle in this town, otherwise I don't know))

Well, that would depend on cost :). Remember, they just stopped competing and are now on their own. Both just got green cards and are planning on becoming US citizens. They have friends in Houston, have been there and like it there. We'll see if living there for a while changes their minds, but for now they are very excited.

Apparently Jost/Orlova split up. :(

I have never really seen them but I liked the idea of them kicking Carron/Jones butt after she left him and because the latter are too blonde to be allowed.

 I thought they were going to coach at Israel's lone rink.

Sorry people - when I said they were going to coach in Metulla, I joked. :P

There are just no conditions there, huge feud between the management and Israeli federation, lack of ice, etc.

I am so relieved you were joking and that it wasn't a consideration.

still anxiously waiting for the announcement from I/B....

 Never!

It it upsetting to see M/B on this list. Most splits are from people who are getting up there in age, pretty bad, or in turmoil. And this one just doesn't fit.

There's all kinds of reasons for splits. If your heart isn't totally in it and/or you can't land a triple jump while your partner can, there's no reason to continue being frustrated. Good for Keauna for choosing the best path for her.

Now is the time for Rockne to find a girl who can jump and really see where his skating career can go...even more than where it already has....

Rockne should pair up with Mary Beth Marley, she's tiny and intense and a good jumper. She does singles now, but hasn't had the best results lately, pairs might be a good idea for her, especially because she's the perfect size for it.

It's a better suggestion than most of what has been suggested on this board (Tanovich, Caroline Zhang, Kwan ). Marley is short, decent jumps, seems flexible. Presentation needs work, but it could come. Of course she isn't full grown (just turned 15 but looks much younger), and she has next to no experience in Jrs yet, but it could be worth a shot to see if she develops, if she had any interest in pairs. I watched her programs at Regionals and Sectionals from this past season (she was 5th at Sectionals, so just missed out on Nationals) and she jumped decently, but seemed to have mini-meltdowns in her long programs... At Regionals she fell on a 3Lo, 3S, 3T, and 2A all in a row... At Sectionals she struggled with those triples again. So who knows how long it would take her to mentally handle Sr pairs on an Intl level or if she would even be interested in moving to that level of skating so quickly (plus she would have to learn to pair skate in the first place). She also has a pretty good triple loop and is doing triple lutzes this year and may not want to give that up (or move away from home).

Marley's name was brought up earlier in the McLaughlin/Brubaker split thread in GSD by Bogie -- link to that post: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2799266&postcount=156
stjeaskategym, perhaps you would like to cross-post what you've written above there?

Does someone want to update the list of "All 2010 Retirements/Splits" for this thread? Perhaps also include those who will not be competing in 2010-11 but have not officially announced a retirement? Vaughn Chipeur and Angela Maxwell, for example.
