Here's an article on Grant Hochstein and the recent challenges he's been facing in the lead up to Nationals: http://figureskatersonline.com/news/2011/01/13/pelvic-pain-no-match-for-hochsteins-passion/

Hochstein's journal entries are linked from this page of his official site (newest one is dated Jan. 13th and the Nov. 22nd entry describes his whirlwind fall season): http://www.figureskatersonline.com/granthochstein/journal.htm

Didn't feel like starting a new thread... here's a low-key FSO article on Adam Rippon with some quotes about his season so far and learning foreign languages (Korean and French): http://figureskatersonline.com/news/2011/01/17/heading-to-greensboro-rippon-feels-really-good/
ETA link to the new thread started in GSD on 1/18 for this Rippon article: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=77052

I've posted links to a new Universal Sports video interview (via Skype) and photos in the Armin Mahbanoozadeh thread in GSD: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3024862&postcount=34

Keegan's Jumps are like clockwork. He needs some ballet or dance. His movement needs to improve . I think his Chor....needs some serious work.

Stephen Carriere? He weighs like 10 pounds!

He's fallen apart under Priscilla, wouldn't be surprised if they were done.

In the article Carriere said that he'll need to hit the gym :). I think he realized that his single career is over as far as getting on the podium again and is looking for other ways to stay involve in figure skating for now.

Wow that interesting. I think it's fine that he is trying Pairs. At 5-7 and around 145 pounds he is going to have to find a card board puppet to skate with. Hitting the weights is ok but we all know what that does for your jumps....lol
I wish him luck....I just wish the stigma would go away. They perception that your singles career is over so go do pairs.....:o

Well do you honestly think that Stephen would be looking at a possible pair career right now if he has a real chance of making the world team in single this year or next year? Of course not everyone does pair or dance because he/she didn't have success in singles, but I think it's true in Stephen's case at this stage of his career.

My point is Why do Pairs as a last resort?

I think his singles career is over for sure. What makes him think he will have the same kind of success in Pairs? 5'7" guys don't look very good in pairs...yea he will have sufficient jumps...He is going to have to change his body inorder to even be able to lift a girl. And the girl will have to be verry small and most likely very young...Not having the jumps he has....it;s a long road.....I wonder if he has the patience to develop....

The minute Ryan's scores came up, I screamed. And then I cried. Took me about 10 minutes to get it together. So incredibly happy. I am so happy my favorite mens skater is finally US National Champion.

Happy for Ryan.

Heartbroken for Jeremy. Will he even be able to get the funding to go on?
