Pinky, I think you are more invested in Christina winning Nationals than Christina and her team.

Anyway, here are my predictions after gp events:

1.) Mirai Nagasu
2.) Rachael Flatt
3.) Ashley Wagner
4.) Alissa Czisny
5.) Christina Gao
6.) Caroline Zhang
7.) Agnes Zawadzki
8.) Yasmin Siraj
9.) Vanessa Lam
10.) Samantha Cesario

2 and 3 could possibly go the other way around or Agnes could go clean this time in the lp.

Pinky, what will happen to you if Gao bombs or doesn't win? Will you be ok? (seriously, I'm a bit worried...) You certainly take "fandom" to new (creepy) levels.

Oh please, I'll be fine. I know Christina, she's just an all around awesome person, not only a great skater but also a beautiful and lovely young lady and a math genius! I doubt she bombs but if she does it will be ok, and plus if she does bomb I won't be able to feel that she wuzrobbed of the title. But I think she will kick some serious butt at nats and then will go on to kick butt at either junior or senior worlds.

Well, this should put things into perspective. Right now Christina and her team are aiming for a win at the JGPF and in all honesty, that will probably be harder to achieve than a win at senior nationals :). If she can hold off Tuk and Sot at the JGPF then defeating Nagasu, Czisny, Wagner, and Flatt at nationals shouldn't be too difficult.

I'm starting to wonder...maybe Pinky166 IS Christina Gao.

Overall, I think our U.S. senior ladies have done quite well on the SGP this season! In fact, according to my calculations, their 6 medals this season (1 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze) are the most in one GP season since 2001 (where they won 8, but that was when skaters could compete in 3 GP events a season). :)

Also, it's the first time the U.S. has qualified two ladies competitors to the GPF since 2007! :)

Kudos, ladies! :cheer2:

I agree that our ladies have done exceptionally well this season so far. When's the last time two ladies qualified for GPF and none of our men?

But Ashley did make it last year. ;)

I hope Christina knows I'm her biggest supporter ever! :)

I really like how much improvement Mirai showed in just 2 weeks. I think not making the GPF is a blessing in disguise because it will give her two solid months of uninterrupted training time -- just what she needs. I expect her to look strong come Nationals. :)

I agree. However, I hope her tendency to come apart in the FS has been left behind. It COULD come back to haunt her, especially at the Worlds.

You said you know her, though...did you mean you know her PERSONALLY? (That would explain everything IMHO).

I like to stress there is a difference between HOPES and PREDICTIONS. I assume your incessant hyping of Gao is linked to the former rather than the latter.

I mostly agree with you, but interesting that you have Caroline Zhang so high up in the ranks. Why is that?

I do know her personally but I don't think she knows just how big a fan I am. She is awesome though!

Ashley and Alissa have a tendency to mess up badly in either the SP or FS at nationals, and if that happens here, with the depth of this field, I'm not sure they will be able to stay on the podium. I think for sure if they both mess up even one program then a clean/near clean Christina, Rachael or Agnes could pull ahead of them, and maybe Yasmin could too if she skates like she did in Sheffield. If everyone were to skate clean I think the results would be:

1.) Mirai Nagasu
2.) Alissa Czisny
3.) Ashley Wagner
4.) Christina Gao (I'd personally have her ahead of Ashley but I don't think the judges would if Ashley was totally clean)
5.) Agnes Zawadzki
6.) Rachael Flatt
7.) Yasmin Siraj
8.) Samantha Cesario
9.) Vanessa Lam
10.) Caroline Zhang

But I doubt everyone will skate clean, and the way I see it, Flatt and Gao are the most likely to skate clean and Czisny and Wagner are the most likely to mess up, with Nagasu and Zawadzki in between.

I don't see Flatt being lower than 2nd unless she has to WD.
