Will anyone alter their predictions about Nats in January after TEB?

In the LP, Rachael [111 pts.], Ashley [110 pts.] and Mirai [109 pts.] are all basically tied for their best results in the LP after the GP series.

For the SP, it's Mirai [58 pts.], Ashley [56 pts.] and Rachael [54 pts.].

Overall, they're tied even tighter -- all around 167 pts.

Alissa has 116 pts. in the LP and 55 pts. in the SP, for around 172 pts, but she's the most volatile and least dependable

Let's look at where they are physically. Ashley and Alissa right now are physically healthy *knock on wood" but each have their issues as discussed above. Rachael has severe tendinitis, which if she goes to the GPF may be further aggravated, not a good move. Mirai is still healing from a stress fracture in her foot/ankle and progressing in terms of her results. This is not a clear picture, so Nationals will probably be a crapshoot! :watch:

At this point, I have no idea who might win Nats. In a weird way I like this trend of a different winner every year.

That could very much be the line up at Nationals, tho I might swap Flatt and Wagner due to consistency/judges preference thus far, and put Agnes above the JGP ladies....

We'll also need to see whether the nationals judges decide to like Gao or not, becuase it's pretty much clear now that the nationals judges and the international judges have differing opinions of US ladies skaters...

:cheer:

Or Christina's :D

And the judges at nationals will like her I'm pretty sure and give her good PCS. She's 1/4 Yuna, 1/4 Michelle, 1/4 Shizuka, and 1/4 Christina/awesome :). What's not to like?

Add to the LP Christina [109 pts.], Yasmin [106 pts.], Vanessa [105 pts] - if you add in the choreographic spiral their scores would be right in the Rachael-Ashley-Mirai mix (Christina without the spiral is already in the mix, and she did that twice).

And SP add Christina [58 pts.], Agnes [56 pts.], and Yasmin [55 pts.]

I know Yasmin is not old enough for Worlds but in terms of predicting outcomes at nationals she should not be disregarded, her scores put up at JGP Sheffield were quite impressive, especially considering she only attempted 5 triples in her FS.

I really like how much improvement Mirai showed in just 2 weeks. I think not making the GPF is a blessing in disguise because it will give her two solid months of uninterrupted training time -- just what she needs. I expect her to look strong come Nationals. :)

Pinky, what will happen to you if Gao bombs or doesn't win? Will you be ok? (seriously, I'm a bit worried...) You certainly take "fandom" to new (creepy) levels.
