Phil Hersh has an update on Rachael's injury today and I've posted the link in the Rachael's plans thread in GSD: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2952345&postcount=257

Long Island (NY) Herald article on Samantha Cesario: Skating towards success (http://www.liherald.com/stories/Skating-towards-success,28917?content_source=&category_id=5&search_filter=&event_mode=&event_ts_from=&list_type=&order_by=&order_sort=&content_class=&sub_type=&town_id=)
The article includes an Eastern Sectional Senior ladies podium picture (L to R): Joelle Forte (4th), Melissa Bulanhagui (2nd), Cesario (1st) & Kelsey Traunero (3rd).

OK. Good news for Rachael. She doesn't sound like she'll miss much training time.

Thanks Sylvia- this quote jumped out at me

“She becomes angry when she doesn’t win,” Joanne said. “The judging system in figure skating is difficult and unfair at times. When Samantha’s not participating in the sport, she tends to miss it very much. There’s a lot of fight in her.”

Makes me wonder how many other skaters feel the same way, even if they don't talk about it or are PC about it. It makes me appreciate those that speak their mind that much more.

Hmm...I almost wonder if this quote is in response to the downgrades she tends to receive on her triple jumps. Sometimes she places much lower than one would expect because of this.

That's what I was thinking. I remember last year she delivered what appeared to be a clean FS at nationals and received a partial standing ovation but then received a score of 74 and wound up 14th overall due to downgrades.

Ashley's sp was stunning at COR. Agnes looks to be a potential threat as I thought, those jumps are amazing.

^ Wow yeah, Ashley's SP was beautiful! She even did a triple-triple! It would have been an amazing combination if she hadn't two-footed the triple toe, and it looked just a little bit short. Everything looked good in her short.

Yeah but guess what, Christina scored higher than both of them at JGP Graz :respec:

And she also scored 48.something at her second event. Your point?

Pinky, step away from the Christina Gao flavored Kool-Aid.

ETA: 47.66 actually.:P

I like Christina's skating, but I won't shed any tears if she falls on her arse at Nats thanks to your obsessiveness.

You really should stow it with the excessive ubering - Christina will win many more fans that way.

This. I love Christina's skating, and watching her progress over the years has been a pleasure. I'd love to see her do well at Nationals, but if that happens, I'll probably avoid this board for a few weeks because I don't want to read pinky's incessant "I told you so" remarks.

I'll second that. I can't remember a single thing about her skating, other than the fact that she does a 3-3 and wears a blue dress in her LP. I think all the hype is just plain weird.

Finally the 3flip3toe for Ashley! I am officially excited about this season.

(It looks rotated enough to me, I hope the low TES is just for the 2 foot on the 3toe and the e on the flutz)
