Maybe Rachael's first season that she is not a full time student? She seems like a hard worker. I respect that...and love her haircut.

There's a separate thread on Zhang in GSD if anyone wants to discuss the "new Caroline": http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=74385&page=14

For those with IceNetwork, the senior ladies SP from Southwestern Regionals is now up.

Agnes looks fab, even with a slight mistake on the 3Lz. I love her effortless jumps, and her overall flow across the ice looks much improved too.

Alexe fell on a very good 3T+3T attempt. Totally superficial, but she looks even more gorgeous this season than last. :swoon: Her jump problems are beginning to worry me a bit though.

But the LPs weren't much to write home about :-( for any of the ladies at SW!

Alexe Gilles did have a decent free skate (93.81) at Southwesterns, though (2nd highest Sr. Ladies FS score of all 9 Regionals behind Zawadzki's 97.00) -- she landed 4 triples (2A+3T, 3F, 3Lz+2T and 3S+1T+1Lo), which is very good for Regionals and much improved over her earlier comp. at Glacier Falls in August. Hopefully this momentum will carry over to Skate Canada this week!

Christina Gao reportedly landed a 3-3 combination in her exhibition program at the Michael Weiss Benefit. Here's a picture, http://twitpic.com/30n0tn, I can't get over how strong and beautiful she looks!

A 3-3 in an EXHIBITION??

Wow.

I'm told it was a 3T+3T that Gao landed in her "Ave Maria" exhibition at the Weiss Foundation show.

Still don't get why Agnes picked that ugly grunting sp music but wow her jumps just seem to get bigger. My guess is she will go to worlds this year and get no lower than second at nationals.

Wow.

But where is a 3 / 3 harder? An exhibition or a competition?

I know! The judges must have been confused and thought she was Canadian!

Kidding!

She hits great positions on her spins and is a beautiful, very skilled skater. Her nerves and jump technique have held her back.

Crossing fingers that Yuka can continue to work well with her.
