Here's the link to the news of Denney/Barrett's split in GSD -- it has its own thread: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=77758

Does anyone have any thoughts on Bereswill/Young post-Nationals? I'm guessing their result wasn't exactly what they were looking for, but I hope they stay together.

I loved their SP especially and actually thought the judges were a bit hard on them. They are still a little rough around the edges but I think they look lovely together and they should definitely keep their "Song of India" SP for next season and see how they can improve it. One thing they definitely need is more speed!

Speed and flow make such a difference, you can have all the tricks in the world but if it doesn't sing across the ice, those PCS marks go nowhere.

Yeah, I thought they really didn't get any benefit of the doubt nor did they get any of that We're-really-excited-about-you PCS boost/bonus that MBM/Rockne got.

I hope they can be successful, but it just seems unlikely that they'll ever, for example, be able to get a split triple twist.

Totally agree on that one. It was clear Rockne and Mary Beth were held up by that PCS Boost. I mean don't get me wrong Rockne is a great pairs skater, but cmon people the team of MBM/Rockne need some time to develop and evolve as a team.

I completely agree with you. "Song of India" is beautiful. I watched their SP many times and hope to see them performing it next year.
They are one of my favorite pairs. For some reason they remain me Meryl and Charlie.

Yes, of course they do. But the judges seemed to definitely be saying, "we're liking what we see so far". They have 3 years until the Sochi Olympics, plenty of time to develop. Mary Beth showed a lot of poise already and with Rockne as a partner, and John Nicks as a coach, well, let's just say...I'm excited and hoping for the best for them!

I guess I can confirm Britney Simpson/Nathan Miller split. They along with Caydee Denney/Jeremy Barrett, Mandy Garza/Brandon Frazier, and Morgan Sowa/David Leenen are no longer on the International Selection Pool list. The rest of the splits were already confirmed through press release or IPS http://www.usfigureskating.org/Athletes.asp?id=447 They've also been removed from the C Team envelope list.

Mary Beth Marley/Rockne Brubaker have finally been added.

maybe there is a new combination Simpson / Frazier ;)

If Simpson/Miller have been removed from the envelope, then perhaps this may be true. If so, can Simpson go back and skate Junior after skating at a SGP? wow alot of breakups so far. Wishing the best for all of the skaters to find new partnerships.

Yes, because she didn't compete Senior at Sectionals or Nationals this season so she is still eligible to compete Junior in the U.S. (and JGP) next season.

My impression was that they got the "she's too tall for this" marks.

I'm pleasently surprized that Becky and Trevor are still skating. Trevor seems to be running out of gas....graduated from U of M and has options for career. Becky would most definately like to leave more of a mark in her skating. She is an outstanding student with options as well.....so we shall see.

I would love to see Brittany Simpson find another partner and stay junior for another year or two. She has a ton of talent and with the right partner, I think that she could find some great success.

I agree about Britney Simpson, HeatherC!

Justin Schumann is newly listed on icepartnersearch (Guterres/Schumann placed 12th in Junior Pairs at Nationals), currently coached by Peter Oppegard/Karen Kwan in Artesia, CA. He is ISU Junior age-eligible through the 2011-12 season.

Agreed....great presence on the ice. Wonderful lines,What I can't figure out is why in the world the jumps havn't improved. This is the key element she needs.
