I remember hearing she was having a hard time handling the demands of school and skating lately, so this doesn't come as a huge shock. I was hoping she would give the Olympics another try in four years and maybe go to uni part time, but I don't believe universities outside the US are all that accommodating when it comes to part-time students. Best of luck to her!

Voids galore in her 2008 SP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWb7GZiJI7M)

What a shame.

She and Cheltzie Lee were neck and neck for a while there.

In the last year she appeared to have grown substantially taller and lost her jumping ability.

Allie Rout and Cheltzie Lee have never been neck and neck in ability. They were on the same circuit for some time but I can't recall Allie ever being neck and neck with Cheltzie Lee. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Allie did better then Chelzie at 2008 Junior Worlds. http://www.isufs.org/results/wjc2008/CAT002RS.HTM That was the first year Allie was eligible and the last year Chelzie competed there. So their only time together at an ISU championship event.

Allie is one year younger then Chelzie and retired before she was eligible for her first senior worlds.

The NZ novice champ Iyrin Quigley is from the same club as Allie and is very talented as well. She is getting higher scores than Allie did at her age. So there is another good skater coming up from NZ.

I STAND CORRECTED by .83 of a mark! As I said before they weren't even in the same league. However both skaters have great potential.

Chelzie is only 3 months older than Allie.

You are right. Allie was always more promising and voidy than Cheltzie! :P

I am :wuzrobbed: that she retired. I still remember the voidy green Kiwi (green dress) from Junior Worlds so well and was wondering was was up with her this season. :(

It is beside the point as she retired now but yes, I thought more promising. Cheltzie had the more difficult jumps but Allie had better flow, presentation, charisma and posture.
I still remember her from Junior Worlds 2008 and I don't even remember who won in the end.
But like I said - we will not be able to ever know who was right as she has stopped skating now. :wuzrobbed
