Because you know FSU is not the same without a JWe thread. ;)

So apparently, Johnny is off to record his single in Los Angeles:

Off to LA tomorrow to record "Dirty Love." I'm so excited! Thank you to Conde Nast and Bon Apetit for a great time in Vegas.

I'm not that familiar with the music industry. How long does it take to finish a product like that and get a glimpse of it?

Awww don't be sad. I like your title too. Lord knows it's a popular one. The v.1 one went to 1000 posts!

With computer-based recording tools like Pro Tools, it can be done very quickly....in many cases now, now there isn't even a physical product (like a CD), it's just a digital release.

That being said, with an, er, um, inexperienced singer, it may take longer so the producer can tweak (retune) the vocals.

Just to help build towards the next 1000 Weir-d posts:

What is the one thing you hope out of Johnny's life after skating?

Me first. I hope he gets enough $$$ out of life after skating to help his brother through college. By then hopefully he figures out a long-term career for himself.

The peripatetic Weir -- whose next stop on his personality tour is as a co-emcee at Bon Appetit's "Vegas Uncork'd" food and wine extravaganza, followed by recording his single, "Dirty Love," followed by a gig as a judge at the Miss USA pageant -- introduced some talented young pianists and posed for photos with fans.

 Even better, with ProTools, he doesn't even have to know how to sing! (Which, out of general curiosity, does he actually know how to sing?)
