After loathing Ali all season and being indifferent to Roberto, I admit I got a little misty in the end. :)

Bleurgh, me too. He somehow seemed to develop way more personality as he sprinted toward the finish, no?

Also, re Chris - it was interesting to see that they had even more in common than just both being from the same state. Their parents have the same professions, fathers both born in Montreal (what are the odds?), and same number of siblings.

I think that a common background can be a very important element in compatibility (definitely true in my case - hubby and I are from different cities, but grew up in similar environments). At the same time, it does seem that while Ali loves her family, she's been making a point of going it on her own - moving to the west coast, breaking away from her family a bit, unlike Chris who is closer to his family than he ever was, and wants to be closer.

In the end, she might have seen Chris as moving backwards in her life, and Roberto as moving forwards.

Roberto and Ali seem very happy; so I hope that it works out for them.
It was very mature of Ali to send Chris home once she knew that he wasn't "the one".

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I suppose the editing played down the connection between the two. There were weeks that I forgot Roberto was even there. Ali does annoy me with her incessant giggling, but I do have give her credit for not putting Chris through that final RC. Wasn't there a rumor that Ali and Roberto knew each other before the show?

Me too :shuffle: However, I liked Roberto from day 1 :)

I felt sorry for Chris, but I think she did the right thing in letting him know as soon as she'd made her decision and not putting him through a proposal or whatever.

Well now that Ali & Roberto are starting their new lives in San Diego and Chris most probably will be going around the world with 25 crazies soon, its time for "The Bachelor Pad". Why that makes me giddy, is beyond me!

The New York Post has an article up about the new show and in it Fleiss claims one of the Bachelors impregnated one of the Bachelorettes! Not sure if it happens on the show as he doesn't go into details. I think the most logical parents to be are Jesse Kovacs and Elisabeth from Jake's season. They have been hooking up for months and from the previews you can see them together.

Was Elisabeth the one who said she wouldn't kiss Jake?

She has dyed her hair blond and been chasing Jesse around for a couple of months. They should be two stars of the show, along with Kiptyn & Tenley. And my personal fav, Man Code Dave!!

And from the previews it looks like Man Code Dave vs Raging Craig M. And was that Gia or Tenley crying and saying that everyone had turned into a porn star. :scream:

Well Roberto was my favorite so I am kind of disappointed since Ali is not my favorite. But she went up in my esteem for cancelling the last date with Chris. Not only does it save Chris some face, but Roberto will not have to see her making out with Chris the very day before they got engaged. Unlike the other bachelors and bachelorettes, the last time Ali made out with another man was about 3 days before she got engaged.

Come on Chris, "The Bachelor: Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is ready and waiting.

My mother watched about 2 of the shows and she picked Roberto because she thought Ali was clearly more excited to see him than she was the others. And he was the most normal in communication - romantic, but not forced, looking at her, not looking down or away all the time.

Their plans make me think they are really going to try to make this work. Moving in right away, he has the place and the business up and running already, close enough to LA for famewhoring, but far enough away to make one think that is not all they want.

I wonder about the tabloid report that Roberto had a girlfriend at home who didn't know why he had disappeared. Was that ever resolved?

The Pad looks absolutely craptacular!!!!!! I can't wait.

I'm so glad the spoiler was wrong (about her picking no one). I liked Roberto from the start and I think they make an adorable couple. I loved that Ali sent Chris home early. I hate it when they make the Bachelor/Bachelorette say they can't choose between the final two and agonize over the final choice. I'm glad that she knew already and didn't put Chris through more hurt than was necessary. Will Ali and Roberto make it? Who knows...but I do think they have a chance - unlike Jake and Vienna who I knew wouldn't last.

I think Ali and Roberto both knew from the first night, love at old fashioned first sight. The show edited him out, or promoted others, as much as possible to keep interest and commercials going. And she spent all those weeks trying to not look too interested in him. But they both were. And it turned out right.

I love the Cape, as a place to visit, and it would be romantic to live there year round, but I wondered if Ali thought about what kind of career she could get going there, are there many more options for her in California? I don't know if the characters get practical, or if it is all for the romantic show.

The best part of the ending for me was that Reality Steve was so way wrong, ha ha, fooled him.

I'm happy Ali chose Roberto. As the show progressed they seemed more & more alike & compatible than she did with any of the other guys. Except for crying over losing Jake the Jerk, she really showed very good taste in her choice of the final men. I truly hope this works out for Ali & Roberto.

Is he the first individual "first impression rose" person to get the last rose too, EYS? Deanna had 3 to give and one went to Jesse (F1), but the first first impression rose went to Jeremy.

I have to admit that even my cynical soul was all aglow when the rainbow appeared. Not even Fleiss and Co. could manufacture such a moment.

I give props to Ali for cutting Chris loose when she did and NOT playing along with disguising her clear feelings for Robert. The fact that she didn't play along with Bachelorette play book tells me that her feelings for Roberto are genuine and she wasn't going to pretend to be coy about it just because that's what's expected.
