Hopefully far away from Mama Joubert, the French Fed and the press.

Let the speculations begin...Canada, Russia, USA? Orser, Callahan, Mishin, his mother?

Overseas I guess means US or Canada.

My bad..The article from the French Fed says:" a l'etranger"..so it means in a foreign country. I would not count Russia out since Brian prefers Russian coaches. He considered working with Tarassova last year and the French Fed asked Mishin to coach him in the past.

I hope wherever he goes works out for him. He seems not to want to leave France so maybe just moving to a different part of Europe would be more realistic than going to live and train in the US or Canada. Mishin would be interesting. I mean he is not going to be coaching Plushenko.

Ach, Brian, he is cursed with his coaches. Maybe he just should go without a coach. I'm kidding.
Maybe he'll go to Brian Orser in Toronto over the summer.

So Plushenko is definitely done with eligible competition?

It is just my guess that Plushenko wont be competing next season and maybe not until 2013! So that means Mishin could handle a Joubert who is definitely continuing for next season.

Depouilly leaves Joubert for personal reasons !!!!
Well, that was to be expected. At the end of the season, Depouilly said he wouldn't go on training Brian full time and that Brian should at least train partly abroad.

You're mistaken in the fact that it IS the french fed that wants to send him abroad. Gailhaguet was insistent about it even before last season. Simond said the same when they split, supporting Gailhaguet's view, and Depouilly does the same now (if Brian follows Gailhaguet's advice, he'll go to Canada ; if he doesn't, I suppose he'll train not far from Denkova / Staviski, so it's Canada or Russia, IMHO).

OTOH, Depouilly has his own training center to take care of. I was surprised last year that he would leave it, even if his wife was still there. He has a 16 yo skater (Benjamin Siao Him Fa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCw8msr6F38)) who could begin the JGP next season. I can't see Depouilly wanting to be away, except if he wants Benjamin to move away and he certainly has proposals to do so :saint: (he finished 4th at junior nats).
