New York Observer (http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/05/video-jay-leno-drives-the-koenigsegg-trevita-ccxr/) on Yu-Na:
Korean figure skater Kim Yu-Na, a gold medalist at the Vancouver games and one of the Time 100, was the first guest to walk the carpet.
None of the reporters asked her for comment, but the photographers were happy to take her picture.
While Ms. Yu-Na was posing, a gossip reporter from People magazine asked her handlers if she had a translator.
She speaks English, they said.
"Does she have a boyfriend?" asked a business reporter from Bloomberg.
The handlers shook their heads.
"Let's bring her over then," he said. "She's smoking hot."
Ms. Yu-Na disappeared into the party when she was finished with the cameras.

"She's smoking hot."
 Yup. On top of being amazingly talented and nice.

Wow! She's equally lovely off the ice. It's great to see her relaxed and having fun, too.

I love how understated her make up is. The dress is cool but I think a curvier, taller woman would look better in it.

Apart from her shoes, she's looked quite lovely; tastefully mature and classy at the same time.

Yu-Na stood on the red carpet at the TIME 100 Gala (http://news.naver.com/main/read.nhn?mode=LSD&mid=sec&sid1=104&oid=001&aid=0003262469) on May 4 2010.
Congratulations. How about New York?
▲It's my pleasure to visit New York for the first time and for a good reason.
There would be a lot of celebrities. Who do you want to meet?
▲Roger Federer! Because I’m an athlete (Nominated but not listed though) and Lady GaGa, my favorite singer.
You’re listed in Heroes not in Artists. Any plan to act in other areas besides figure skating?
▲I’m a figure skater playing. In other areas, no idea at all.
According to your autobiography, you wrote “In times of difficulty, trouble or down, I though skating is still my destiny”. Are you still thinking the same way?
▲As a figure skater I climbed to the top of my sport and realized my dreams. Therefore, I could change my mind sooner or later but I’m not changed yet.
Do you have any dream unfulfilled yet?
▲ I accomplished all my ends, World Champion, Olympic Champion. No regret at all.
On the contribution to TIME, Michelle Kwan wrote “For Kim, the dream that began as a 7-year-old has been realized. For these girls, thanks to her, a dream and journey are just beginning.”
What do you wanna say to the girls to be skaters like you?
▲When I was a little girl, watching Michelle Kwan, I had dreamed to be a great skater. To the girls, I want they, looking at me or other skaters, could make it through without giving up hope of a painstaking process
Time magazine was issued in the smaller picture. Don't you feel sorry about it?
▲I did not expected the bigger because the list has 100 person.
Any plan to participate a big match?
▲Nothing's set in stone right now.
It took about 5 minutes for her to walk 10 meters because of photographers’ requests for posing, interview requests, questions, greetings from fans, etc.
She was the youngest in the list.

Sportsfeatures article (http://www.sportsfeatures.com/olympicsnews/story/46827/yu-na-kim-honored-by-time-magazine-as-one-of-worlds-most-influential-people) on Yu-Na TIME 100.
Quintessentially classic and elegant dressed in a black evening dress and silver heels in place of her ice skates she noted, "I'm very grateful to be here at my young age. It's my first time in New York, and I'm delighted that I came here for a good reason. It's such an honor to be invited to a gathering of the world’s greatest people, and it will make a wonderful memory."

wow! she really is GORGEOUS!!!

The better rez picture show that the dress is even better than I thought. And it suits her better than the Getty images showed.
She is too beautiful, it's almost a crime!
I remember chatting with a Korean friend who told me she doesn't meet the "round-eyed" standards of Korean beauty. I beg to differ! May be your friend was referring to the double eyelid that so many people are getting with plastic surgery in South Korea. I hear it's a pandemic there and that plastic surgery is even government subsidized. Some Asians have the double lid naturally but plenty get it from the knife. :yikes:
And no, I don't think Yuna's eyes are particluarly round but that doesn't mean she is not pretty. Her eyes are lovely.

She looks lovely and I like the dress for her. Congrats to Yu-Na

I found an anecdote about gracious Yu-Na at the Time's 100 Most Influential People gala.
Yuna Kim, Time's 100 Most Influential People (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2976784/yuna_kim_times_100_most_influential.html?cat=14)
When Ms. Kim, the runner-up hero to Clinton, arrived at the scene first -- perhaps unfashionably early -- there was no milling crowd waiting for her. There was no police lines nor screaming fans for the "queen" of ice. It wasn't Oscar. It's just no-nonsense New York. Passers-by in the street didn't even know what's going on at the Time Warner Center that day.
Kim wore a black dress, flaunting one bare shoulder. Except a few glances from strollers, Ms. Kim just walked right to the front door without any disturbance. As she walked the red carpet, flashes began to greet the elegant Kim, and after a few poses for cameras, she was escorted in.
But there was an anecdote about Yuna Kim and Taylor Swift who arrived later.
In the official photo spot, Kim took time for the photographers, smiling to almost each frenzy request before disappeared into the hall. Taylor Swift too paused for a few shots, but she left amid angry protests from bitterly disappointed photographers.
There is no way of telling whether that's just the way between Taylor Swift and the photographers.
But Brain Orser, Yuna Kim's coach, once commented how Kim was gracious with her fans or reporters. Coming from her coach, I wouldn't give much credit to Kim, but after watching Taylor Swift shoot a little sparks at the photo zone, well, I guess that this 19 year old skater perhaps knows better of how to deal with people, especially of media.
