Here's a high stakes, one-bet only thread on the UK election:

What share of the popular vote will Labour win in the UK election to be held 6 May 2010?

Labour won 35% last time in 2005. Check out their latest polling trends here (http://www.ukpollingreport.co.uk).

This bet will be open for 72 hours. Your vBookie reserves the right to change the odds at any moment. For purposes of this bet, we will refer to the BBC News website for election results.

According to the BBC, the Labour national vote share currently stands at 29.0% - right at one of the thresholds for this bet.

There is one seat (a safe Conservative seat) left to vote, Thirsk & Malton, and they do not go to the polls until 27 May. I will leave this bet unsettled until then, because of the potential for Thirsk & Malton to change the national vote share and to allow for any recounts or challenges in other seats.

:drama: I notice that I originally defined the bet outcomes up to 2 decimal places, which works just fine as Labour's vote share came out to 28.997% which rounds to 29.00% :drama:
