Sorry for neglecting this thread. I had meant to post the progression of Berntsson's LP PCS a lot earlier.

Finlandia --- 67.70
Skate Canada --- 62.64
Ice Challenge --- 61.78
Merano Cup --- 58.68

During his Merano Cup free skate, he received yet another an edge call for his 3F. *sighs*

Well, the only triple jump he landed cleanly was the 3 axel according to the protocols. Everything else had negative GOE's for the jumps. It would be hard to justify massive PCS for that type of performance...
Obviously Kristoffer's PCS shouldn't be great if he's falling apart like that (it's not like his PCS scores are that high to begin with). I was simply expressing my concern over this downward trend.

In case you guys haven't seen it already, I've made a "Which man will be crowned the 2011 Swedish national champion?" poll: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=76316 I'm curious to hear your opinions. :)

Härryda-Posten.se published a a short interview with Kristoffer earlier today :D (though the photo they chose isn't very flattering ): http://www.harrydaposten.se/nyhet_visa.asp?id=721&sidnamn=Sport

Google Translate did a weird job translating the text into English, so although I understand the main points of the article, the finer details elude me because some of the translated sentences don't make much sense. (For example, "som att sätta de hoppen som är med i programmet" becomes "such as getting the shop which is included in the program".)

"som att sätta de hoppen som är med i programmet" should be something more like "such as nailing the jumps in the programs", I hope that helps.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, clara. :)

SkateSweden.se has published highlights from the press conference: http://iof2.idrottonline.se/SvenskaKonstakningsforbundet/Media/Nyhetsarkiv/AkarnafulladdadeforSM/ The only skater who was missing was Berntsson, whose train was delayed due to a snowstorm between Gothenburg and Malmö. He arrived just in time for the end of the meeting, though.

Did anybody else breathe a huge sigh of relief after watching the live stream for the short program?

Phew, I'm glad that I'm not the only one celebrating! :40beers: :summer: Where have you guys been? For a while there, I thought I was Kristoffer's sole cheerleader on FSU. :P

SVT has a news report on the Swedish Nationals, which includes a brief interview with Koffe. I luuuuuuurrrrrrve his beautiful, sunny smile! :swoon: :encore:: http://svtplay.se/v/2274812/konstakning/kristoffer_berntsson_bast_i_sverige

As always, an English translation is greatly appreciated! :)

I love love his short program. It's an instant classic like Amelie and the robot program.

It's official; Koffe will be heading to Euros! (He will have to earn his Worlds berth at the Nordic Championships, though):

Wheee, so glad he's going with Schulheiss and Viktoria Helgesson! Strange to think Swedish ladies have two spots for Worlds, but only one for Euros but I'm hoping that changes after this year. On the men's side, fingers crossed Kristoffer and Adrian can skate well enough to get close to the 13 pts they need for 3 spots.

Härryda-Posten.se spoke to Kristoffer about his victory at the Swedish Nationals (though they insisted on using the same unattractive picture for the article :duh:): http://www.harrydaposten.se/nyhet_visa.asp?id=730&sidnamn=Sport

the article says that Kristoffer is happy to be able to take home the title again.
- it feels good to bring home the trophy again, he says.

he managed to hold up under pressure. his shape is getting better and better and in time for nationals Kristoffer was right were he should be.
- it was a really big difference compared to the first competitions this fall, I was much better prepared. the short program went really well. actually I was a little nervous before the free skating, there was so much at stake, says Kristoffer.
he also made some small mistakes in the beginning of his free skate.

- I did three weak triples in the beginning. they were not clean and it costed me quite a lot of points, but I managed to turn the situation around and skate really well after that.

Kristoffer scored the highest of all skaters in both the short and the free program and recieved a final of 205,31 points.

the article goes on telling about the score of the other skaters. then:

on monday evening Kristoffer was informed that he, as expected, is going to europeans in Bern in February. (It's january, right?) he won't have much of a christmas holiday as he plans to sharpen his programs even more, to present them even better in upcoming big competitions. Most importantly he will put his energy into the beginning of the long program.
-it's the three first jumps that is causing me trouble, and I will be working on them.

the rest of the article is about Gabriella Josefsson, who won youth nationals, and other young skaters:)

Thanks for your help, SmallFairy! :)

Koffe has added a blog entry earlier today on his experience at Nationals! :fan: http://www.landvetterkk.com/Kristoffer/My_thoughts/Entries/2010/12/26_Nationals_2010.html
