(How many is that? One million votes = one judges vote?)

How it works is by %. Say a total of 100 judges points were given, and person 1 scored 20 they would have 20% of that total. Person 2 that scored 25 would have 25% etc. Same with viewer votes. If one million votes were cast and person #1 got 500,000 of them, they would get 50%. Person 2 got 100,00 votes, they got 10% of the total votes.

Combined-

Person one- 20 + 50 = 70
Person two- 25 + 10 = 35

I see. Well, not enough people are voting for Pam, IMO. I'm with Bruno, he said about people not voting for Pam: "It's not right!" LOL.

So the judges have equal weight with the viewers? Does that ratio stay fixed throughout the season? Kate got 13% of the judges 100%, Pam got 18%, and Nicole got 25%.

I only vote online and have been giving Evan 6 votes, Niecy 3 votes and Pam 1 vote. Since Niecy seems to be holding her own I'll give all my extra 4 to Pam this week.

I believe it stays fixed.

In the beginning the range of the judges' scores between the top and lowerst dancers can be significant. However, at the finals, most of the scores are so close that even though someone may be a couple points higher, the percentages aren't that different. So in the finals, the viewer vote is likely to have more impact even though technically it's still only 50%.

Canadians have been able to vote for a few years now (I've done so many times).

So have I. Though I've always voted online. Is this new because Canadians can now vote over the phone?

I'm not a fan of Jake's nor did I watch The Bachelor. I thought the cha cha was sloppy and I don't get the judges' praise. BUT I'll take a dozen Jakes over one Kate. He looks like he's having a great time. He's working hard. He is dancing his heart out and he's showing lots of personality. He's not expecting pity votes or working some factor beyond the effort he's putting into the show.

this might deserve its own thread, but...

Lane Bryant accused ABC of refusing to air its ad rolling out Cacique, a new line of lingerie, this week during the hit show “Dancing with the Stars.”

Lane Bryant believes the network is just turned off by big gals.

But “their statements are not true,” said ABC Vice President Julie Hoover. “We were willing to accommodate them, but they chose to seek publicity.”

The label acknowledged that ABC offered it a slot in the final 10 minutes of “Dancing” — but only with heavy editing that would have gutted the spot.

As Niecy would say, "This controversy is for all of the thick girls out there :glamor: ".
