This fundraising event is taking place at Wollman Rink in NYC's Central Park today (April 5, 2010). Johnny, Tanith, and Jeremy have tweeted that they will be attending. I was really impressed with the Olympic-themed synchro number performed by the FSiH skaters at a recent benefit show and hope a lot of $$$ will be raised to continue supporting this very worthy program! :)

From the captions, it appears that Ben's injury is to his groin, not back. He says it's getting better - good to hear.

In their Today Show interview this morning Meryl & Charlie put in a nice plug for this education/skating program and mentioned that Tanith is on the board.

Can anyone explain to me what this event actually was?

Can anyone explain to me what this event actually was?It was a fund-raising event (http://www.figureskatinginharlem.org/events/skating-with-the-stars.php) where those attending could skate on the same ice with the competitive skaters and also bid for auction items. I'm assuming that there was an admission fee/ticket -- Monday's event raised over $300,000 for Figure Skating in Harlem, whose students also performed (http://figureskating.teamusa.org/news/2010/04/06/figure-skating-in-harlem/35119) at the event.
