Ugh there was just an interview with Laura at the ball :glamor: and she didn't exactly say she's not going to participate at Nationals. But she was asked whether she needs to go straight back to training tomorrow (after a festive day today) and she said that she said no, because her achilles is still bothering her. :( To me that says that she will not be participating.

It'd be quite weird if her first competition of the season would be Euros.

:wuzrobbed

She's so beautiful :swoon:

I agree! :swoon:

Of all the "itises" I've had, achilles tendinitis was by far the hardest to resolve, and the quickest to flare up again. I am sorry for any athlete who has to battle with it, but you just can't push it -- rupture is a real threat.

^Totally agreed, she looks fab and that dress is lovely.

So, apperently Laura is still not able train properly :(. I am starting to think won't make it to Europeans.

:( Just get well soon Laura.

That's what I believe has happened to her because she was already back to training in November. Apparently now she's had to stop again. :(

She is. Very elegant and natural at the same time.

I guess it is wise to not to compete in the Finnish Nationals, although it it:wuzrobbed not to see her, but it would not be good if she would be :fragile:
again.
Even if she would have to skip the whole season it would be wiser than to get injured for ever. But I still hope she and Kiira will be fighting for the Euro medals.

Well after my doubts yesterday it's now official.
http://www.hs.fi/urheilu/muut/taitoluistelu/artikkeli/Loukkaantumisista+toipuva+Lepist%C3%B6+j%C3%A4tt%C 3%A4%C3%A4+SM-kisat+v%C3%A4liin/1135262220644/?cmp=tm_etu_uusimmat_uutiset

It's the achilles. She hopes to compete at Europeans.

I'm doubtful though. :wuzrobbed Ugh, there's no chance we're keeping 3 spots without her.
OTOH it's a wonderful chance for the youngsters and should push them to even greater performances at Nationals, knowing there's a good chance that the two best will actually get to go to Europeans.

Sigh. I also don't have high hopes for Euros.

Alisa Mikonsaari apparently changed her LP just over a month ago! The Finns can see a clip here http://areena.yle.fi/video/1389294

I hope this one would include some transitions...

LOL , sure :) In this case, I shouldn't wait for another ISU championship to come back in Finland :cold:

It looks like the video is not geoblocked because I can see it too and I'm a rude Amerikan. Choreography videos are fun to watch -and I did see a few 3 turns before a jump, so all she needs to do is change her last name to Plushenko and the transition score should be all set.

Thanks a lot! I hadn't caught that before even though it was released already in October. Must have been while I was in Iceland internet-less.

I'm glad she's changed the FP but what I'm not too excited about is that it's yet another screechy violin piece. :shuffle: Has she really skated to anything else?
