She had a smile before the 2nd fall. Pouted after that, except for a half-baked smile during her bow.

The horse is dead. Either kick it to the curb or put it on a spit and add BBQ sauce.

Wow, fantastic pictures! I tried to get a picture of Evan during his bows, but my stupid phonecam chose that moment to freeze up. :angryfire

Thanks! Trust me, I missed a lot of good shots as well since the camera is slow to focus and adjust, but I think I did the best I could given the constraints ;)

If only I could have brought my Rebel camera.

RD -- GREAT photos. Loved the group number shot from the back. You're really talented!

It's funny, you and I got practically the exact same shot of Sasha spinning during "Espana Cani." (Mine's a little fuzzier, though.)

I almost had a beautiful shot of her doing her layback -- but I ended up cutting her head off! :(

Which one? I think both shots I put up were of her in some sort of spin...

Debating whether to buy tix to one of the NYC-area shows (either Long Island or New Jersey). Is it safe to say it's probably worthwhile to spent the $$? Even if I go cheapo and get nosebleed seats?

I think so. And while it's fun to sit close and you get one view, I've sat pretty high up as well and enjoyed that too. Plus if it's not crowded, you may be able to move down.

I hesitated about going to the show this year, but I'm really glad I did. SOI isn't quite the spectacle it used to be, but I still had a lot of fun.

Take binoculars. I've done that in the past, when I had to sit high up, and it really does help. :)

RD, I meant the sit spin, where she's facing the camera.

ok, I suspected it was that one but just wanted to make sure. Yeah, that camera doesn't have any kind of shutter priority- it would have been nice to pick a shutter speed fast enough to freeze her. Still, it came out decent.

Thanks for all the info re: the skaters and tours!! what did everyone think of Joannie's performances? I'd love to hear some more thoughts about it! :)

Will anyone be watching the tour in Japan?
