"Cute new blog post, with backstage photos, from Meryl:

Do you know who is with Maryl in the picture? My guess is that it is Yuka Sato.

You know, I was standing there, thinking up things to say to Jeremy at Meet and Greet, coming up with just one dumb question which I knew the answer to (something about program/music for next season), listening to his unfailingly polite responses, and him telling someone it took him 4 years to get a 2A (I've read an article to the contrary  ), I couldn't help but wanting the very best for him. Nothing for him has come easy so far, and yet he keeps trying. It's like me quietly watching and rooting for some neighborhood kid who grows up mentally before me.

Tonight was quite amazing :) I have lots of wonderful photos and two videos! :)

The only person with jumping problems tonight was poor Sasha :(... She two footed the first jump in Espana Cani and fell in the first jump in Hallelujah. She seemed really disappointed/annoyed in the bows during the last number.

Going on what everyone else has said, Sasha doesn't portray herself very well to the audience. She didn't really crack a smile once and during transitions in group numbers, she said things to Yuka Sato. I love Sasha, but I wish she'd smile!

I don't have many more notes really... Alissa's pop number was just really odd. The audience was dead silent, I felt so bad for her. The number was awkward for me because all she did was flip around her hair extensions and skate around. When she tried to do actual choreography it came off weird cause of her graceful placement with her arms and hands. Another thing about the extensions... they don't match anyone's hair. Sasha's are like black compared to her natural hair!

The show was super fun. I enjoyed it much more than last year. I especially enjoyed my third row seats <3.

I had a meet and greet pass, but only Meryl and Charlie came out. It was lovely though, Meryl and Charlie are so sweet. As you all know I met them this past December and the first thing Meryl says to me when I walked up to them was that she remembered me. Awesome :)

ETA: I don't know when Charlie cut his hair, but it was short tonight. Everyone at the meet and greet was sad. Haha.

Thanks for the link, what a great story!

Then it happened. After the coaching change, the move from home, the second National championship and a trip to Vancouver the phone rang. Stars on Ice made the call to ride the bus on a 41 city tour that is now nearly over.

So, they call from SOI, the agent of the skater does not contact SOI...

So, they call from SOI, the agent of the skater does not contact SOI...I think Jeremy's mom was being succinct - trying to sum up almost a year in one sentence, lol. I think she used "call" in the metaphorical sense - SOI offered Jeremy a spot on the tour, so they had to call someone, but it wasn't necessarily direct to Jeremy.

To be clear about the usual relationship between agents and SOI - it's very fluid and they all know each other pretty well. There's lots, sometimes, of to-ing and fro-ing and it's perfectly acceptable for an agent to let the SOI producers know that one particular skater or other is interested in being with the tour if they're not regulars.

Of course the final offer is usually made from the producer to the agent, not the skater. In Jeremy's case it might have been different and that would be a bit unusual, not impossible.

I'm really sorry about the awful video quality. My mom got a new camera for mother's day, so this was it's 'first time' taking pictures. I took it as the 2nd camera (to film and incase mine died) and I'm really sad the videos (especially Evan's) are not that great. My boyfriend also used her camera to take the first 10 pics in the album, and the quality isn't as great as it would be with my camera.

Went to Dallas show last night, I enjoyed it even more than the first time. The skaters were all on. Except Sasha's one fall, it was a great show! Maybe because the skaters have had a restful day, the group numbers were more energetic and synchronized. The solos were more focused and more presence. Jeremy has had a great 3A and a 3-3 in his shortened LP. All other jumps in both his solos were perfect. Rachael has had a perfect performance. Alissa was good too. I thought her pop number was a great extension from her genre, a really nice and worthy try. Sasha was as usual. The fall didn't take away her skating beauty. I went with two non-skating fans. They both enjoyed the show very much and they said that they loved Sasha.

The skaters who have gotten the loudest cheering, if I remembered correctly, were Evan, Shen/Zhao, Jeremy, Davis/White, Michael, and Todd. The audience gave all skaters a standing ovation and cheer at the finale before they even ended their routine of bowing and waving.

All in all, it was worth the second time. I went there specifically to see Jeremy's skating again. He skated wonderfully. If Jeremy is in the cast next year, I might do the same.:)

My point was that a skater or the agent does not contact SOI, it is SOI which is contacting the agent or skater.

The agent might - it's perfectly acceptable business practice. As far as the final offer is concerned, of course it would be the producer making the call. But Jeremy's case seems a little different - the SOI producers negotiate and make offers almost exclusively with the skater's agent, not the skater directly. I guess this was an exception because she didn't say "Tara (the agent) called us."
