We'll never know for sure, but the way most of the ladies are skating this season, I think had she competed, she could have ended the season with a World title.

Hmm. Easy to say, but...if the motivation is not there, etc.

We'll see with Kim.

Yes, that's why I said, "we'll never know for sure". ;)

Bit of a rant here, but not Joannie's fault...

Here we are on the last day of February. Which is Heart and Stroke Month in Canada. She's the Celebrity Spokesperson for the H&S Foundation of Canada. So where are the PSA spots w/Joannie? Sure there's been these cover stories on magazines, but that's it!?!

They should have done a bunch of TV commercials w/her, as well as radio ones, to help further the awareness during this month. IMO, Heart and Stroke really missed the ball on this one. That's not Joannie's fault either, that one's firmly in the laps of the PR people at Heart and Stroke.

I'm just sayin....

Mixed call. They did that with Katia Gordeeva after Sergei died, and the result was perhaps too much of an over saturation. People are not all cut from the same cloth, perhaps Joannie is doing the spots at a pace she is comfortable with. I myself am glad that the media has been giving her space and not treating her like a milch-cow for that 'big story'.

Joannie is supposed to be on The Marilyn Denis Show today from Toronto. In my area it's shown on CTV at 10:00 am (already over) and again at 2:00 pm, on 'A' channel/CKVR at 5:00 pm, then on Bravo at 2 and 8 am the next morning, all eastern time.

Ok, so Joannie's segment was about 9 minutes long starting at about 15 minutes or so in. There was a mystery guest segment first in which the blind-folded host had to identify in "I've Got a Secret" fashion that she was talking to Donny Osmond, who then announced that he and Marie will be doing shows in Toronto in the summer. (I know from the DWTS threads that there's some Donny fans around here.)

They talked about the Olympics for a couple of minutes in which I don't think there was any new information. She said she couldn't believe it had been a year, talked about the emails she received from Dan Jansen and others and the support she felt, and mentioned how she couldn't feel her legs before she started to skate and then she went on auto-pilot when the music began and couldn't remember how she'd skated at the end.

She was asked if she was dating and confirmed that she still is with her boyfriend of more than a year and it's going well. He's at school right now. She mentioned that being a former skater himself he understands her schedule and she looked into the camera and waved hello to him.

They then talked about and showed the Birks heart shaped pendant with a spin-type tracing pattern in the centre that was designed for her jewelery line and I believe that she was wearing one as well. She mentioned that they also benefit the iheartmom campaign to raise awareness of heart disease and they gave a couple of them away to audience members: a silver one and a diamond one. Another one is available to be won from the website www.marilyn.ca (http://www.marilyn.ca/Contests/030711_JoannieRochetteNecklaceContest.aspx)

In asking about her future plans, Marilyn didn't specifically ask about eligible skating. Joannie mentioned being in U.S. and Canadian SOI, said she had finished the school program that she'd been working on for the last 7 years and wishes to go to university eventually.

Some other interviews from the show have been posted on the site, so maybe Joannie's will be too, once it's through being aired on television.

I really hope she'd come back to competing scene.

it was so much fun when joannie was there last year. This season's ladies field(without yuna, joannie, laura) kinda sucks:(
