Original lyrics:

I met a gin soaked, bar-room queen in Memphis,
She tried to take me upstairs for a ride.
She had to heave me right across her shoulder
'Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind.

It's the honky tonk women
Gimme, gimme, gimme the honky tonk blues.

I laid a divorcee in New York City,
I had to put up some kind of a fight.
The lady then she covered me with roses,
She blew my nose and then she blew my mind.

Paige lyrics:

I met a gin soaked, bar-room man from Memphis
He tried to take me upstairs for a ride
The man, then, he covered me with roses
Cause I just can't seem to drink you off my mind.

I'm a honky tonk woman.
Gimme, gimme, gimme a honky tonk man.

I paid a VIP in New York City
He tried to put up some kind of a fight
The man, then, he covered me in roses,
He blew my nose and then he blew my mind.

-------
I never would have known she changed up the lyrics so much! I wonder what the VIP line is all about. She hired a male escort?  Well, I think it worked cause "laying a divorcee" is probably not the family-friendly image Paige wanted to put forth...and the VIP is a bit more ambiguous. Loved this performance anyway...

I loved how David Cook sucked all of the melody out of "Jumpin' Jack Flash". So often melody gets in the way of really good music...

"Teen Idols" is a broad category. The Beatles were teen idols.

Keshia was horrible. I'm sure all the contestants were sitting there thinking that if she could make it, they surely could too.

Why do they keep having Idols on to perform covers? Why aren't they promoting their own albums? Can't they have Cook on when he has an album to promote?

Katie must be even more confused after what all the judges told her last night.

I suspect Tim and Paige's fans will rally next week after seeing them in the bottom three. I really think they should be among the next to go. I hope those two and Aaron and Katie are the next four to go, but I don't think that will happen.

Heh, Michael Slezak theorizes that Kesha was brought on in order to quiet the talk that this year's group sucks: (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20312226_20352515,00.html)

Imagine Ken Warwick, feet up on his desk, barking into his phone: ''They think Katie Stevens has got pitch problems? She's bloody Billie Holiday next to Ke$ha!''

I was  at Kesha's performance. It was really bad, the singing the whole performance. The headdress  I could have happily gone on in my life without seeing that performance...

OMG  I am sure the song is very fitting but the title alone has me cracking up. I think it would be hilarious if the goodbye song were Since U Been Gone. Cause that is honestly how I feel after most of them leave.

Just for fun! I love this for some reason and I am by no means a Fantasia fan. The look on Simon's face at about 3:00 is priceless:

 I think he may be right. And to be honest, so many pop stars can't sing live today that the contestants fit right it.

Hee- Orianthi is an amazing guitarist, but not so good at lip synching. She is such a virtuoso at playing that I'll forgive the vocals. I hadn't heard of her until I watched Michael Jackson's This Is It. I read an article about her back then, but forgot about her. I was watching her on AI, thinking, why is she there, I've never heard of her... Then I thought her singing was OK but nothing special but she played the guitar really well. When she started talking (isn't she Australian or something?) I remembered her.

Kesha was there, because she had one very catchy and popular song (sold 6 millions, that's huge, especially now when so many people are just downloading stuff). I liked it, too. This one wasn't anywhere close the first one. You could have kind of seen from the beginning she's going to be a one hit wonder.

Crystal is so far above the rest of the competition it's ridiculous. I think Siobhan is as good if not better. She may be not as polished and put-together as Crystal, but to me she's more like once in a blue moon talent. Unique.

And she probably won't win. She doesn't have to win to have success. Winning doesn't guarantee that, and losing doesn't prevent it.

Anyway, I only liked Siobhan and Aaron's performance. Crystal can do much better than she actually did.

Bye-bye Lacey, you stayed too long anyway.

Tim Urban is starting to grow on me (visually).
