She said she's already forgot about Maxim
As a fan of M/T I find this heartbreaking :(....Anyway, I wish her all the best with Jérome!

I'll simply add my two cents to the discussion still going on: the pictures of Maksim and Tatiana training together in Russia made me so happy, I thought I'd bounce. They both look so relaxed, it's unbelievable! I've seen/meet him in Turin, I know how stressed up he was, and now he seems like a completely different man. This makes me believe in their future as a successful pair, if only from a psychological perspective ;).
And only as a side comment, as much as I loved Totmianina/Marinin, he had the grace of a broken umbrella. Trankov outscores him on all plans, with the sole exception of jumps quality, which Marinin achieved only very late in his career.

There are some interesting tidbits in summaries of stories below below it, some of which have been mentioned before:
Oksana Gritshuk asked a bigwig in Russian sports administration for support at next week's election (4 June) to replace Piseev. (19 May)
Three contenders from the pairs side are Sikharulidze, Vasiliev, and Tikhonov. I don't remember hearing about Tikhonov before, but I may have missed it or ignored it :slinkaway. (27 Apr)
In a summary of the Russian team's placement at the World Synchro Skating Championships, the article mentions that the team was in seventh place, but for those who don't go on to click to read the whole article, does not say that this means there will be two teams from Russia next year, instead of one :drama: (11 Apr)
In an bit on Kings on Ice, Johnny Weir is listed as "favorite Johnny Weir" and Lambiel is quoted as saying he wants to try choreography or cinematography.

Tikhonov for president! :cheer2: :mitchell:
He's probably way too nice to do everything necessary to be elected though.

According to Bing translation of the article directly below the Volosozhar citizenship article, it appears she wrote two letters to Alexei Kulakovski:
From letter 1:
I will become true successor, will carefully to everything good itself. Today I am asking for your support. It is a great honour for me to continue the heroic work of the President of figure skating Federation of Russia.
From letter 2:
If our specialists due to ignorance of the language again not be actively involved, again will have to go under the rules of competition. I possess perfect. It is crucial that the strengths of Russian skaters are evaluated by judges. If necessary, I fly at ISU Congress and make amendments.

Grishuk is a legend. I don't know how the hell she'll do as president, but I'm sure it will be fabulously :drama:
I do hope though that Tikhonov gets it considering everything he's been through in his career.

I hope it's Tikhonov or Sikharulidze. I don't trust Vassiliev to stay as objective as one needs to be in that position.
