The original forword to Scott and Tessa's book was written by David Pelletier, who has mentored them. Well you know the rest. It was suddenly changed to Tracy Wilson, who is after all, an ice dancer.

No, he didn't write the book. He wrote the forword (that would be a paragraph or a few at the most). The forword in a book is normally some information, usually complimentary, by someone in the field of whatever the subject of the book is about. The fact that it was listed in print on Amazon that the forword was by David Pelletier, right up until June, and then it was by Tracy Wilson all of a sudden - is interesting, that's all. I believe it was a conscious decision made by - who knows - not that Tracy was more appropriate, although she IS, but that "considering" everything, David's endorsement might be seen as a little bit of a "conflict of interest"

The Roots media guy who was on the photoshoot video as well as in the video from the Roots store, is intervewed on the video saying that David contacted him back in November and said that Roots should pay attention to Virtue/Moir because they were going to bring home the gold. So David had a hand in their endorsement deal, according to the Roots media guy, who should know.

How nice for David P.

However, with Roots being the official outfitters for the Canadian Olympic team, plus Tessa and Scott winning gold, it's hard to believe Roots wouldn't have come to the conclusion of an endorsement deal all on their own.

Roots wasn't the official outfitters for the Olympic team. HBC was.

My mistake.

I still think V/M and Roots would have ended up together.

;)Yes, I forget how many years HBC's contract was for... could it be coming up for a new bid ? When the deal was awarded to HBC it was still a Canadian company. No more. Roots is a Canadian company, and now has yet another prominent pair of sports heroes as spokespeople...potentially mutually beneficial ?...just wondering...

Does David get a finder's fee...?:D that's mostly a joke ...I like David.

Speaking of David....he's mentioned a lot in this article. He's acting as agent/mentor. So maybe he did get a finder's fee Pratfall;)

Awesome pictures but I wish they could've dropped another hint about their music choices! It's sad to hear that Tessa's injury is still causing her some problems. I hope they're able to manage it in such a way that they can continue to skate as much as they want (competitions/shows/tours/etc) for as long as they want.

Wow, they look great. And it's too bad about her injury. :(
*is wishing for music revelation*

Thanks for the link to the IFS cover! I'm surprised to see that the geeky photo in which they're wearing glasses isn't included in the article.

I loved that picture, it was really cute.

Some info about V/M's programs from PJ Kwong's blog (from the thread in GSD):

PJ's new blog "Catching up with Tessa Virtue (http://apps.pjkwong.com/blog/?e=53581&d=08/31/2010&s=Catching%20up%20With%20%2E%2E%2E%2ETessa%20Virtu e)" is up now...

o, one more tango from S-Z teams. I like T-S tangos, but..... Why they didnt choose foxtrot or quick-step?
I think it will be something in there 2008-2009 OD style.
As for FD..... Look, like it will be something fast. But if T essa have a pain - maybe they dont need to try skate fast, like D-W?
I think we are lucky, that Tessa decide to skate one more season with this paine. Pure Tessa
