She's awful. She'll attend the same press conference as a dozen other news outlets, whether figure skating or some other topic, and her version is always full of conclusions and opinion masquerading as information.

Google her sometime -she's very popular.

I don't know the Virtue or Moir families, of course, but it seems improbable that any of them would actually say something like that to a reporter. They all seem to have much more class than that.

Isn't Rosie DiManno known for making up facts to suit her articles? I have trouble believing anything I read when I know she is the author.

This is the first time I read anything from her so I don't know. :)

Does anyone know how you can see their Olympic performances again? I can't find the videos anywhere.

I imaging, how Scott cousin Cara, who was sitting with Jessica during FD talk to her - Jess, you know, our familiy wish Scott start dating with Tessa, what do you think about this?

I don't put too much trust in Rosie DiManno's conclusions, and she can be downright nasty most of the time. I suppose she would call it "creative writing", I call it "sensationalism" when it truly isn't called for in most cases.

I should hope so! Ugh, what an icky thing to write.

Yes I think this is highly unlikely!

And thanks bookworm for the "shipping" explanation!

It's a shortened form of "relationship", i.e. wishing for them to be an item.

I thought that fan "shipping" was a shortened form of worshiping. Fans that "worship" the skaters/actors/singers whatever.

I've seen it used a few times in that context but it is mainly used to indicate a wished for relationship.

It definitely means wanting them to be in a relationship.

A common term I've heard for obsessed uber-fans of a celebrity is "stan" as seen in Eminem's video "Stan." Hahaha.

And then the announcer told the audience that the night's anthem speaker was ... all of them! It was funny watching Scott belt it out but it was almost subdued compared to when he was at the top of the podium and had just received his gold medal. Tessa seems to be enjoying her "new job" of dropping in on hockey games and dropping the puck.

Aunt Joyce has the OD + FD on his blog:

Wow they sure are going around to many hockey games! Scott must be really excited!

Haha yes I meant shipping as in wishing they were in a relationship. Thanks for the clarification bookworm! :)
