Haven't we already seen that from them with Pink Floyd?

Yes -- and it was awesome. Can't wait to see more.

I hope they win Worlds just so they feel that they have the freedom to do whatever they want. They have so much talent -- they could show some truly interesting ideas in ice dance. I'd love to see lots of different emotions -- rage, depression, sadness, confusion, as well as just plain abstract dancing.

Those were two of my favorite SYTYCD routines, too:

The Hummingbird (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gF_izDK1jY)

Sweet Dreams (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-ojO_efKF4)

I'd love to see them skate to "Never Say Never" by The Fray, which was used on the Canadian SYTYCD last year for one of my favorite routines. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yflTC0SQlIA)

Thanks, T&Bfan! Trying to think of other cool numbers -- remember the Triplets of Belleville number -- cabaret, was it? It was totally off the wall, but so interesting. I wonder if they'd ever try something like that.

Thank you and sap5 for the links a lot! Look really cool. I like The Hummingbird - but i dont think this could be done on ice. But who knows....
I like "Sweet Dreams" by Marlyn Manson, but i dont think judges will love this sounds
I think they showed a lot off modern moves in PF FD and it was a lot off criticism - that this wasnt the dance, this was acrobatics. Skate Canada talk, that they need to do romantic FD at OG againe, Trasy Wilson all time talk how it was risky and that D-W much better in S&D. I think only Kurt support them with PF FD. (and russian specialists from ice dance).
I mean this is really cool ideas, but its look, like most off people didnt like something modern and unusual.
And for me there Mahler was an abstract dance with light and love mood. And i like PF FD a lot too.
But lets go to talk about modern choreo.
I know, you dont know this music, but what do you think about choreo in this numbers (this girl isnt dancer, she is rythmic gymnast)

ITA! I think there's a lot more where Pink Floyd came from and I really hope we get the chance to see it. I keep telling myself they don't have to skate competitively to push the envelope, although I'd rather see what they can do to push themselves under COP. I'm hoping they put together something awesome for CSOI, but I doubt they'll have much time to work on it. Will they have 2 numbers? One fun and one voidy? If we're allowed to make requests. :P

Tessa is hip-hop expert, thats why i hope they will show modern choreo at least at show number.
I think they will have 2 numbers for CSOI. But will it be something new or no. They really didnt have a lot off time for doing something new.

How do you think, when they talk about retreiment - will they skate at leat in shows?

My youtube was acting up last night so I didn't have a chance to view. I will try again tonight.

Just saw this: http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/03/11/the-best%E2%80%94and-worst/

9.3 Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue. Fine, Ill be the one to ask even though were all thinking it: what would it take for our ice dancing gold medallists to make out in front of us just a little bit? Im only talking about second base. The chemistry is such that seeing them on camera together is like watching the first two seasons of Moonlighting.

Well, I guess V&M succeeded in creating that "feeling of love" Marina requested. Oh my.

 I particularly like that 'cos I was a big Moonlighting fan (even once interviewed someone from the show & named a pet after a character). And this reminds me - on the Television Without Pity sports forums, a few posters have been discussing whether it's weird to "'ship" real-life people like they do for TV characters.

But that article ranking JoRo and V/M below the men's hockey team? Oh, Canada.

I thought they will have 9,5 at least (or even 9,7 - i give ten to hockey gold, because its Canada). And Russia-Canada game had more pooints... Tessa adn Scott wuzzrobbed :lol::lol:

It's weird, creepy, and generally icky. :yikes:

Although it's always nice to imagine the possibilities of a good team branching out and doing different things, I decided I'm just fine if all V/M want to do is romantic, sappy stuff. :)

I hate to think of such a young team retiring. I don't know about just doing shows. Is there even much of a market for that anymore?
Also, I've gotten the impression that when Scott and Tessa talk about retirement it's about not skating together anymore at all because of wanting to do other things. If they'll still skate together, why retire?

I so agree.

But I figure it's like all that tabloid gossip at the supermarket checkout. They're free to publish that kind of junk and I don't have to read it. After accidentally coming upon some of that creepy stuff out there re. V/M (and some others), I've learned which sites to avoid.

And i agree - Zurleine is stronger technically, but he didnt have peersonality on ice yet. And he is like Charlie and Scott - he is 21 or 22?
Not to get too OT, but I first saw Greg in a show when he was an 11 y.o. singles skater. He had a ton of personality then, and really impressed a pro skater who was the guest star of that show. But from what I've seen of him as a dancer, that personality has been much subdued. As others have said, he could still develop/ bring back that performance level. V/M are so good at so young an age, it's easy to forget that other dancers still grow and improve and peak even later.

Oh, and re: Meryl - I have to put in a good word for her too. ;) (This reminds me so much of how I like both pairs S/P and B/S. I like V/M and D/W too, although favor V/M.)
