On a slightly more serious note: I fail to understand what all the gushing is about. From where I sit (stand?) this TV show should be about the plot/music/dancing/actors. So where does Glee come into that?
I almost think you have to be American, or have a great, great, great understanding (not just knowledge) of American pop culture, to "get" this show. The name Glee comes from glee clubs and is meant to be funny, nerdy, and kind of sarcastic all at one time. I'm really not surprised you didn't care for it, especially if on top of not being American, you don't like musicals. (Slightly OT, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer is kind of like that too. I'd occasionally meet foreigners who loved Buffy and was always confused by that, as it's so American pop-culture centric and so allegorical, which doesn't always translate well.)
It's supposed to be zany and over the top, but as absurd as it is, it hits on some very, very real issues. The situations are bizarre, however, the emotions the situations and characteres evoke are not, IMO. While I might not like all the characters all the time, I could always sympathize/hurt/feel joy right along with them, which is the mark of a great show. It's kind of like all those David E. Kelly shows which were, if you looked solely at plot, very  It was the emotional response and characterization that hooked you.
And on another note, damn you vietgrlterifa. I now have that damn Eminem/Rhianna song stuck in my head. You will pay for that.
I really hope they don't ever have Eminem night on Glee.
