Glee: (just like) starting over...

First episode in a long while that I loved. You should all know now that I am the biggest Brittney (sp?) in the world. Have loved her since the beginning, and I loved the actress who plays her on SYTYCD.

Loved:

1. Idina's 'Funny Girl'
2. 'Poker Face' duet. So poignant.
3. 'Bad Romance'.
4. Santana rocking her costume.
5. Brittney: "You look terrible. I look awesome." P.S. I am so getting her costume.
6. Kurt's dad's rant. Not what inspired it, but the rant was a beautiful message.
7. Tina's vampire. "I think that he believes that vampires are real."
8. 'My balls are starting to fall off.'
9. 'He's always just kind of around' explaining the pianist.

I am so buying all of the songs from last night.

I think I loved "Home" episode the best but this one was definitely 2nd. I hope they rerun all the episodes this summer because I've only seen 3 or 4 of them so far. BTW, who is Santana? I don't know everyone's name yet.

Santana's the non-blonde cheerleader. She wore the black Gaga costume. I was really impressed with her voice on Bad Romance too - don't think she's been highlighted before and she's got decent pipes.

hulu.com has the past 5 episodes on its site to watch for free. You can also download any episode via bittorrent, they get shared pretty quickly.

Additional random thoughts:
1. Uh, Finn is participating in Puck's serenading of Quinn? Was there a forgiveness scene that got dropped?
2. Apparently Jesse St. James was in a red lace Gaga costume, but AFAIK he hasn't gone back to Vocal Adrenaline. The promo for next week showed him rehearsing with them, so maybe that's a plot point that switched episodes.
3. KISS is no more manly than Gaga. Sorry, Finn. If they really wanted to polar opposite, they should've done rap, or country.

Santana has had parts in The Boy is Mine & Like A Virgin. I agree that she's got a nice voice.

I liked the episode last night. I'll need a rewatch as I was really distracted by packing. :)

AFAIK, this episode was supposed to air next week and next weeks was supposed to air this week, but for some reason they decided to flip them, so that could be where the confusion lies.

Well, that makes sense. I was wondering where Jesse was this week. I was kind of waiting for him to accidentally take off one of the red costumes in front of Rachel.

By the way, I totally missed him last night. I'm going to be so sad when Jonathan Groff's run is over. Did they change Tina's last name? I remember back in the premier she auditioned as Tina Tse but last night the principal called her Miss De Wong or something.

Tina's last name is Cohen-Chang, and it has been since the Pilot episode. When she auditioned for glee club in the pilot, she said her name was "Tina C."

Odd choice of Poker Face for the mommy/daughter duet. :confused: I think the Bad Romance number unfortunately came off as a parody of Gaga's dancing skills. :lol: I loved the theme of this week's episode, but I'm kind of sick of the "what's this week's lesson/assignment/moral?" that many episodes are starting to have. It's kind of sloppy. The Kurt and Dad scenes continue to make me weep, and Lea Michelle made me weep every time she was on the screen. Lahv lahv lahv. I was also getting Adam Lambert flashbacks from last year's AI finale during all the KISS numbers (Beth and platform boots!). :cool:

I hate when networks do that. It happened on Alias and turned the entire season into one big :confused:. Now I'm really interested in next week's episode!

I think I read an article recently where Ryan Murphy acknowledged that he was going to be very selective about guest stars next season. Frankly it seems he wasn't looking past Season 1 because shows like this rarely get picked up by networks. Many artists are clamoring to be covered on GLEE (which is not surprising considering it's buzz). But he acknowledged that they're going to do less with guest stars next season.

Tina is funny! I think she's been under-utilized. Or maybe she should have more storylines that aren't tied with Artie's.
