I don't know if you'd like Salad Fingers, Buzz. It's a series of eight short cartoons about a rather lost soul living in the wake of a civilization-ending war (or is SF simply crazy?).

Kween! (Sumners was never a US silver medalist. :saint: Yes, I know what you mean.)

Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton?

ooops sorry, I meant to say Olympic silver medalist. :(

Some of the most prominent ladies figure skaters (Kween, :irina1:, :sasha1:) were beaten by short term/teen skaters who won the Olympic gold and then quickly retired (:sarah1: , Lipinski, :oksana1: ). Does this diminish the value/prestige of the Olympic gold?

Non, but it's not the only thing that matters, without which no career is great or complete. Besides, I'd have given it to Kwan in 1998 and Slutskaya in 2002 anyway.

my three favorite Slutskaya performances:

1999-2000 GPF LP2, Don Quixote
2002 Worlds SP, Serenade
2005 Euros SP, The Lady and the Hooligan/The Bolt

Look back at the mini-you from at least 5-10 years ago, and pray tell, have you become:
more conservative
more liberal
an evangelical Christian
stayed the same

II. When you ignore someone on FSU, is it annoying that 1) you still see that they have posted (albeit the message isn't shown :shuffle: ...still there is that all too tempting button to unblock the user and read the message :2faced:), and/or 2) that you can see the full messages of all users you've blocked if their messages are quoted by someone you have not blocked?)
Just #1
Just #2
Both #1 and #2
Neither bothers me :saint:
purple blockity block blok :blocjudge

5 years? About the same.

I sometimes wish that I couldn't see their posts at all, but that can lead to the embarrassment of joining a thread in progress with an observation that the ignored poster has made already.

...though there was that platonic girl-crush on Christopher Hitchens (and his journalism). :shuffle:

1) I went from being fairly liberal to completely indifferent.
2) It doesn't matter whether I put annoying posters on ignore or not because they're all going to die in the end anyway.

Self-serious Oscar acceptance speeches by two-time winners of the Best Actor award:

Tom Hanks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBuDMEpUc8k&feature=related) ("the streets of heaven are too crowded with angels"; there's no limit to the amount of abuse he must take in ToToToT)
Sean Penn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P9gJolO634&feature=related) ("An elegant man is President." And?)
Dustin Hoffman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhDmNRQgKLM) (Not bad, actually.)

1) I went from being fairly liberal to completely indifferent.

ZOMG, siouxdaddy and Auntie icedance are like twinnies. A decade ago, Auntie icedance was so liberal. A decade later, Auntie icedance realized she didn't really care then and certainly doesn't give a shite now. :drama: She used to be so liberal and now is so jaded and indifferent. RIP the liberal Auntie icedance, for she is now long dead.

I) Tom Hanks is so pretentious. :blah:
II)
III) Eurodam

Favorite famous judge:
Alla Shekhovtseva of Russia (perpetual dance judge for Russia and wife of Valentin Piss-eev)
Yury Balkov of Ukraine (taped by Canadian dance judge Jean Senft while :bribe: her to change her vote for the 1998 olympics dance event)
Marie Reine Le Gougne (the French judge on that infamous 2002 olympics pairs panel)
Sviatoslav Babenko of Russia (1/2 of the 1999 worlds foot tapping trio)
Alfred Korytek of Ukraine/Israel (the other 1/2)
Joseph Inman (American judge who caused a mini-:drama:fest before Plushy lost the Olympiks :P)
Vanessa Riley (infamous British judge :P)

1) :yikes: The noise always made me uncomfortable, save for a brief enthrallment with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise in 1990.
2) Vanessa Riley will always be my favorite.

:adds icedance21 to the list of people who will rediscover their passion for political engagement in their thirties.: You and siouxdaddy will be like 1970s film stars! Also

Almost a decade ago when Auntie icedance was in a college English composition course

I assumed you were a little bit younger, for some reason. :o
