Been bopping back and forth between TAR/Closing Ceremonies of the Paralymics in Vancouver here in the basement and the game w/Norway upstairs and...Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the Curling Rink...

The girls from Norway were...Shall we say inspired, by the guys at the Olympics as there they are wearing multicoloured polka dotted pants!!

I actually think they might just be louder than the Men's team at Vancouver were and I can't believe I'm saying that either!! :lol:Apparently it's becoming a trend for the national team - I read during the Paralympics that the wheelchair curlers from Norway were wearing pants from the same company, and I believe the article mentioned something similar about the men's team at the junior world championships. It's kind of awesome.

Following yet another lucky fluke win at the Scott, Jones as I predicted gets her ass handed to her at Worlds, getting outplayed by an old past her prime Andrea Schopp in the 1-2 game (after already losing to her in the RR), then getting spanked in the semis by the teenage Eve Muirhead. She now drops to the bronze game. Hopefully Jones has won her last Tournament of Hearts, as that she somehow managed to win 4 as it was is a travesty, and her overall Worlds record is proof of how overrated and lucky she really has been.

Interesting, Andrea Schopp wins a World Title over Eve Muirhead, who wasn't even born when Andrea won her first World title.

BTW, I was reading some of the proposed changes for future Worlds (2011-2014) from the World Curling Federation.

8 end games? No more tiebreakers? No more timeouts? Interesting.

Ah yes, trying to make the games shorter to attract fans/viewers. (I remember when games were 12 ends. :P) Maybe they could cut it down to a draw to the button competition and have the whole competition done in an afternoon.

If they didn't have to reserve a day for tie breakers they could shorten the event by a day.

If they rid of timeouts they should allow interaction with the coach between ends.

I hate 8 end games. My daughter curled 10 ends in the juniors and in some cashspiels, and then went back to 8 ends for the under 18, and it seemed like every game was just too short.

Randy Ferbey is joining Brad Gushue's team.

Ferbey team no more (http://www.thetelegram.com/index.cfm?sid=335591&sc=83)

Meanwhile WCF voted down most of the proposals mentioned above, and voted out Les Harrison as well...

Congrats to Kevin Koe's team - World Champions! Also to Norway with silver and Scotland with Bronze.

TSN said Blake Macdonald might be leaving Koe's team.

:sekret:Also Jeff Stoughton is apparently going to put a new team together. And Glenn Howard must be rethinking things after losing in the Olympic Trials and the Brier final.

Sorry I'm late to the party, but have been having computer problems and decided to see if having it off since Sunday would help. So far...So good...

So thrilled for Kevin and the boys!! My Dad's wondering if the party up in the Territories is still going on or not, as this is just as much their World Title to celebrate as it is The Saville Sports Centre's. :D

What a week they had over in Italy and Wow oh wow!! I was bawling during Oh Canada, as I know just how long a journey it was for Kevin and the Team to get there. What an end to a Cinderella year for them. :)

It was also the end to an era though in Canadian Broadcasting w/Ray Turnbull retiring. It's going to be so strange next year tuning into TSN's coverage and no Ray poking fun at Vic and Linda. He's really going to be missed.

Grey Power Player's Championship final today - battle of the Olympic Champions! Kevin Martin against Brad Gushue. Should be a good game.
