Someone always manages to act on our good ideas before we do. 35 years ago I pitched to some friends of mine that we should call ourselves "yuppie lifestyle consultants". The idea was to sample every bar and restaurant in NYC and tell yuppies where to go. We could deduct all this bar-hopping and eating out as "business expenses". Sadly, none of my friends took to my idea and then, bam, along came Martha Stewart who got rich, rich, rich telling everyone else how to live. I tell you, there is no justice in this life - the idea was mine, I tell you mine.
I believe you. I do think this happens more than people admit.

Then that could have been you sentenced to jail time and forced to wear the ankle monitor. :slinkaway

I'm actually a humble bookkeeper in real life and I would never have gotten involved in any insider trading shenanigans; that;s me - poor but honest.

That all-white living room is fecking nuts. She definitely has a color-coding fetish, in addition to her already established cake frosting and alcohol addictions...

my SIL and I split a pitcher of mimosas and made Aunt Sandy's trailer park croquembouche (styrofoam cone covered with donughnut holes) for a centerpiece. it's pretty damned ugly. :)

I'm shocked! Aren't her tablescape pieces the epitome of class and lurveliness?

We didn't even think about pictures. At least not until after we'd used rubber bands to shoot peppermint candies at it. :shuffle:

ETA: At least I won a Slim Jim for scoring the most direct hits. :)

No, sorry. It's now just another family holiday tale. Like my Jehovah's Witness mother "celebrating" Xmas by going to a funeral.

Ooh, epic fail on the all-white Xmas tablescape auction. Worth $3000 (allegedly), sold for only $300 and change.

This week's auction tablecrap tablescape:

"Asian" banquet? Apart from most of this trash probably being manufactured in Chinese sweatshop factories, I can't see too much "Asian" about this one....
