Henin v Elena tonight in the middle of my night.

Beefaroni, you need a 3am wake-up call?

I'm tempted to actually set my alarm......though the dog will be VERY confused. :dog:  :dog:

Dickie Gasket loosing in 5 in a GS? Never had that before?

OTOH, Novak :cheer:

I wouldn't mind those champions, at all. But ... did you see Serena yesterday? I've never seen her look this good so early in a tournament.

She was playing a clown though. I wouldnt judge anything on anyones form until they play someone decent. Which in the WTA is in most cases not until the round of 16 atleast (while in the ATP it happens as early as the 1st or 2nd round often).

^Lol. Ula Radwanska's FH is scary (and not in a Steffi Graf kind of way)

Djokovic's tennis looked fine, but his outfit -- it's all black. Would look great at the U.S. Open. Australia in mid-summer? I felt hot and uncomfortable just looking at him! I feel like the AO calls for coral reef tones.

Quick question - are they behind with the scheduling? Which days will they attempt to catch up? Would that mean that some of the singles players would be playing back to back days?

01-19-2010, 11:14 PM
Yes, they were running behind because of all the rain on Monday. Yesterday they basically got caught up but I did notice some ladies still have to play their first rd matches on Weds.

Lots of players are having to play Tues and Weds so the tournament can get caught up.

I turn on the Kuznetsova/Pavlyuchenkova watch on ESPN 360, and the commentators are talking about Wozniacki.
I switch to Azarenka/Cohen-Aloro and they are also talking about Caroline Wozniacki!
You know, ESPN 360, there's a reason why I'm not watching Blahroline's match. :blah:

Just noticed that Evgeny Korolov is now playing for KAZ. So the big K just bought themselves another player?

Yes...along with Shvedova and Karatantcheva, who won the "Asian" WC.

seriously - what is up with Sharapova? Was that loss a fluke or what?

According to the commentators Sharapova had not had a competitive match since late last Aumtum and that her run up the the AO was not ideal at all - so I'm going with a fluke loss this time around but this year will be an important one for her to re-establish herself as a true contendor!!

^Well, she played in the exhibition in Hong Kong, and beat Venus and Wozniacki, both in straight sets. So she's had some prep for OZ, and some good stuff at that - this loss is just  Maria clearly isn't the player she was prior to the injury, and who knows if she ever will be.

Elena and Justine going at it on centre! Wwwhhhheeee. 3-2 to Dementieva; been a good start by both, one VERY long game at 1-0, which Henin held. C'mon Elena!

Oh, and I think Novak looks HAWT!

I was watching the Dementieva-Henin match while working out, and I can't imagine two female bodies that are more ideal models for fitness. Gods, but they're both gorgeously muscular women!

^I was thinking the same thing; Elena in particular has a beautiful bod, I think, and Justine is just a lil powerhouse!
