I'm going to blame the wind and, erm, 3 arduous rounds of qualifying. Yeah. There's really no excuse for that - I don't think Dulgheru has won a WTA match since she won Warsaw.

^I think you're right; just a bunch of Eastern Euro challengers!

Kuzzy just won in a canter!

I know that Coco Vandeweghe won the USTA playoff, but there's gotta be other American girls who don't suck and win more than 1 game against a player ranked #96th. Every time I've seen this girl she gets bageled by some unremarkable player....did all the other American girls get food poisoning the week of the playoff?

Han Xin Yun, a qualifier, took the second set from Samantah Stosur...I'm watching it on ESPN 360 and she's got an impressive game.

I'm so sick of the commentators talking about Serena's incident :blah: They want to dwell on it, I can't believe they are still talking about it DURING a match. Ridiculous

Typical ESPN and their irrelevant commentating.

Yesterday, Pam Shriver asked the male commentator how he'd feel if his son was a ballboy and had to wear the pink shirts.

Calm yourselves, Roger obviously won, and 6-0 in the fourth set at that.

Venus just beat Safarova, 6-2 6-2; this was a potentially dangerous match-up and some predicted an upset; at RG last year, Safarova took Venus to 7-5 final set, so I think this is a nice win for V.

Early bets for the champion?? I say Murray and Clijsters.

But that 3rd set was tough to watch - if Fed had lost that ....... but luckily he came throught it. And than Igor just ran out of steam!!

Anyone watching the Gasquet/Youzhny match - watch a match this turned out to be!!!

EDT: Great result for Youzhny - heartbreaker for Gasquet - especially after the mp's in the 4th set!!

I wouldn't mind those champions, at all. But ... did you see Serena yesterday? I've never seen her look this good so early in a tournament. She'll be a tough, tough out, especially given that she shouldn't be working too hard until about the semifinals.

:blah: Federer. Lucky gorilla. Andreev couldn't buy a first serve on his three (four?) set points in the 2nd set. Everyone, especially Andreev it seems, knew the match was over when they instead started the tiebreaker that set.

Henin v Elena tonight! :kickass:
Henin v Elena tonight in the middle of my night.
