Dickie Gasket wins Nice after coming back from 1 - 4 in the final set against Verdasco! :cheer: :summer:
Very nice! Yay Dickie.

Argentina took the Team World Cup trophy today, but the US boys did well to take 2nd, with Querrey and [lMAO] FurBeast Ginepri really giving their dirtball-king opponents 3-set battles today. A word to the French Open doubles challengers: The Bryans are in awesome claycourt form ... watch out.

Roland Garros starts in, what, 12 hours? Anyone else as underwhelmed as moi?

I normally love RG, but I've got so much going on that I doubt I'll be able to see much of it :( So I'm not as excited as usual.

One can only hope the new relationship will be less obviously dysfunctional.

3 cheers for Richie :cheer2: but.....in typical Richie fashion he did serve for the match in the 2nd set! :wall:

Please tennis gods may he beat Andy Murray in the 1st rd!! :)

In other news.....Sharapova won Strasbourg. How many clay court titles does she have?

Disappointing day 1 schedule for Roland Garros.

Well it didn't take long for the first upset to occur. Azarenka gets bounced by Gisela Dulko winning only 3 games. Not real surprising though when you consider Azarenka's recent form and Dulko is a crafty veteran.

BIG upset though with Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez losing. After winning Rome I'm sure a lot of people thought Martinez Sanchez had a chance to go far in this tournament (including me)! :wall: What a disappointment for her.

Gulbis struggling with the Frenchmen Benneteau.

Azarenka should've just skipped the whole clay season. Her injury is obviously not healed.

MJMS is a bit upset, though

I like watching Bennetteau and wish he were more consistent.

Gulbis retires against Benneteau. Thought he could do well here.

What is Venus Williams wearing??!
It looks like she has no panties/shorts under that (dubious taste) dress.

Don't like the hem, blerg.

Mary Carillo has said "Zoinks!" twice, "Sacre-bleu!", and "tree-huggers" and its only Day 1. Love ya, Mary!

Also re: Azarenka: "Does the hamstring go all the way to the brain?"

Eeek, Venus choking on match points.

But a nice, solid, deep, and powerful shot to win Match Pt #4.

Brands (GER) taking Tsonga into a FIFTH set! :watch:

Brands is a tall drink of good German beer. :grope:

Tsonga @ MP, Brands' shot goes long, and the Frenchman wins. INTENSE match!

Dulko is SO hot. Just thought I'd say that.
