Bethanie Mattek is the only US lady left in ladies qualifying. She did good to beat Elena Bovina in 3 sets today. Her final match is tomorrow.

Against Halep - will be a tough one as both deserve to qualify and Halep excels on clay.

I thought Young had given up and retired (what's the story with him anyway - wasn't he meant to be the next big thing?!)

Excited about the draw tomorrow!

Warsaw semi's: Li v Dulgheru, Zheng v Arn

C'mon Na Li!

Sweet baby Jesus, do not let Justine in JJ's section, please! :drama:

^You so know she will be, at the first opportunity. Ugh. That or she'll draw Dementieva (who I doubt will even get that far at this rate)

Dickie Gasket doing well in a tournament in FRANCE?! :cheer:

Megi, you're late to the party. He won last week in Bordeaux. :D Now he's going for 2 in a row! :)

The women's draw SUCKS.

Henin, Sharapova, Stosur & Serena all in the first quarter.
Jankovic relatively easy until the semis, but her quarter still includes Ivanovic, Radwanska, Wickmayer, Zvonareva & Safina.
Woznaicki, of course, gets the cakewalk. Slumping Sveta is in this quarter, facing slumping Cirstea in the first round.
Venus gets Aravane.

Gasquet vs. Murray first round!

Hee, it's not TRULY a Grand Slam unless Serena and Henin are meeting in the quarterfinals! :drama: Oh, if only there were some dramatic history between the two at Roland Garros. ;)

Silver lining, oleada, re: your girl Wozniacki ... she's reportedly injured and was considering dropping out.

Besides Gasket certainly cleaning Murray's clock in R1, there isn't much to talk about in the men's draw. Well, there's this: Fed may get Gulbis in the R16! :watch: Gooooooooo Ernests! If not EG, then Montanes, who could also give Roger a challenge.

Djokovic's draw shouldn't give him any fits until the semis. Querrey should finally get to the third round in that quarter. (Plllllease, Sam!) Nobody will trouble Rafa in his quarter.

So that leaves Murray's quarter, where ... I have no idea. Will Dickie break-through? Berdych? Troicki? Big John? Sadly, my surest prediction in this quarter is that Paul Henri will be bounced in the first round. Our PTPOTH 2009 can barely win sets this year. :(

So 2 US men get thru qualifying but unfortunately neither one of them is named Ryan Harrison. :( Harrison lost to 32 year old Italian Stefano Galvani. The 2 Americans who qualified were 29 year old Michael Yani and 27 year old Jesse Witten. Both are playing their 1st FO.

Pity Bethanie Mattek didn't make it either so no US lady got thru qualifying.

Schedule for Sunday's play comes out tomorrow.

Go Gasquet beat Murray!! ;)

Gasquest/Verdasco in the finals of Nice. Sharapova in the finals of Straussberg (or however its spelled).

Anyone interested in a great suicide tennis event can play at:

Sharapova winning the French, ROTFL!! There isnt a hope in hell she even gets past her 3rd round with Henin if she even makes it to that match.

Didn't Sharapova make the SF at the French a few years back when she came in off an injury and had hardly played that year? Lost badly to Ivanovic if I'm remembering correctly.

I'm not convinced Henin is going to win this. Seems she doesn't have a lot of match play under her and while I know she made the Australian Open finals with even less play, on clay I think she could be vulnerable despite her 4 titles here. I guess I'm expecting her to get upset somewhere.
