She has the game; does she have the mindset - still very doubtful about that.

A certain Justine Henin might stop her...

It was nice to see Stosur play that well and win a decent sized tournament but I cant imagine her winning any slam, let alone the French. Henin or Clijsters on clay would be way too good for her even in decent form.

But is Clijsters actually that good on clay; I think she's said it's her least favourite surface and though of couse she's had success on it, she's not the same Kim as she is on American hardcourts IMO. But I agree yea, Stosur winning a slam just doesn't seem ... to fit.

I can't see Stosur winning a slam, or making it to the SF like she did last year with an easy draw. Her game is too on-and-off. When it works, it works; when she is off, she is atrocious.

As per a source on twitter, Myskina is pregnant again :saint:

Late, but anyway ...

:kickass: Rafa's Monte Carlo 6-peat! Friggin amazing accomplishment. C'mon, you stone-cold Fedheads, give my man his kudos! :P

 6-peat

I think even greater than his Montecarlo win (wow, 6 in a row  ) is that finally he got some common sense and wonŽt play Barcelona, now if he manages to skip Madrid too (even that will be really hard to sell to Spanish sponsors :bribe: ) IŽll believe heŽs really changing his schedule habits.

BTW there have been some gossip that next season Madrid will take Rome place and Rome will be moved to May, that would be a better schedule for Madrid but I like Rome tournament a lot and I wouldnŽt like so much those dates for it :(

No blue clay in Madrid btw (thankfully)

Won't Rome next year be both mens and ladies together? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere. If so maybe that's the reason for the change.

More and more womens events are now being paired up with the mens events. Sounds like it might be the only way for the womens tour to survive.

I think Nadal really is de-cluttering his schedule to lessen the toll on his body. About darned time, little man.

BTW, Rafa was pallbearer, today, at Juan Antonio Samaranch's funeral.

Cool testament to this sport that the last leisure activity JAS enjoyed was watching the Rafa/Verdasco Monte Carlo final. Sports man to the end! According to the AP, he fell ill right after that match, and headed right for the hospital, where he quickly fell into unconsciousness.

I hope this is true as I believe his playing days would be severely limited if he doesn't and he is an amazing player who deserves to challenge for the #1 position in the world again and that will only happen if he starts to plan his year accordingly!!!

USA is playing Russia in Fed Cup this weekend in Birmingham, AL. Attendance looks to be about 1500 people.

Oudin just won the 1st set 6-3 over Kudryavtseva.

Oudin wins 6-3, 6-3. USA goes up 1-0.

Oudin gets revenge for her 1st rd loss at the Australian Open this year where she lost to Kudryavtseva 2-6, 7-5,7-5 after having 4 match pts on her.

Oudin's 2nd serve is pathetic. Kudryavtseva can't move at all. She played a terrible match.

In the other semi-final perennial power Italy is up 2-0 on Czech Republic.

Now we get to watch Dementieva beat up on Bethanie Mattek in the 2nd match.

Robin Soda vs Verdasco in the Barcelona final. What a hot final.
