You know, we all kind of knew that Rafa's body would not take kindly to the kind of game he plays. But it's still rather sad to see it come to pass.

I hope he gets better.

With Rafa, to be cliched, "it is what it is". We fans (and anyone else who has followed players with similarly unforgiving-to-the-machinery games) knew what to expect when we got wrapped up in the guy. But, still ... :fragile:

Good with the bad. Nadal will still have some shining moments, just not sustained shining.

Agree totally. If he had somehow altered the way he played when he started out i.e. not pounding so hard on the knees - I doubt he would have been as successful as he has been. I do think he can win another slam - and if he could manage the US Open then he would have the career GS as well but unfortunately I think we will always be left with a feeling of "what if?" in regards to Rafa's career :(

Welp, some good luck for Serena when serving 3-1 up. Justine's break point and the line judge fubs up her call and retracts it.

Serena is serving well, but Justine is making her work every service game. Let's hope it stays interesting!

It really is close at the mo...

ETA: one set all, Henin has won four straight games and has some major momentum

A really nice match indeed. Now if they could just hold serve more often...

Juju really had the momentum, at 1-0 15-40 in the final set and then Serena came right back at her; what a way to close it out! COngrats Serena!

And congrats too to Justine; I don't like her but I can't deny how amazing she plays; her comeback is going very well so far!
