How amazing would a Zheng-Li final be?! :cheer2: I highly doubt it'd happen, but it certainly would be

I like Zhengs game. She isnt that powerful but is very clever. She reminds me of Kimiko Date sort of.

<worship> Serena <worship>
Thank you thank you thank you for not losing, and dooming us to a title by Ol' Dead Eyes. Take that title, Miss Williams!
Vika has nothing to regret. She did all she could to pull that out, but Serena just ... was Serena from the moment she was a set down an d 0-4. Seriously, anyone who thought Ree was OUT at that point hasn't paid much attention over the past ten years.
 I'd hate to be Na Li! Serena is going to be a house afire in the semis. I predict a 6-2/6-2 win for Williams.
Glad to see we agree ;) I don't think there's anything stopping the Henin/Serena final. I think it's keeping Serena motivated

Davydenko wins the first set 6-2. Amazing tennis from him that set.

Wow Davydenko just destroying Federer. Simply amazing tennis from the baseline from the Russian. About to go up 6-2, 4-1, 2 breaks in the 2nd if he can covert 1 of his next 2 break points. Hopefully he doesnt choke like Azarenka and Venus but I doubt it, this isnt the WTA.

A Zheng-Li final would be the most amazing thing ever. It doesn't even have to be that combination, either one of them winning would be awesome. One thing I don't like about tennis is the small group of people who are vying for major titles. It is nice when someone new sneaks in, especially if it is unexpected.

Federer hits a surge in form and unfortunately Davydenko has a bit of a lapse and Federer comes back to take the 2nd 6-3. Will be interesting from here now. Basically a best of 3 from here and not too much expended from either guy yet it seems.

Federer and Davydenko now in a 4th set with Federer up a single break serving at 3-2, and up 2 sets to 1. Some tight service games early in this set.

Unpopular opinion: I find Azarenka's whale grunt less annoying than Sharapova's or the Williams sisters'. The main problem that I have with it is how long it is. It's like she exhales and just keeps on going.
Federer is through. I'm kind of surprised (or maybe it was my wishful thinking that Davy would get through- it wouldn't have bothered me at all).
What a painful loss for Nole! :wuzrobbed :fragile:
He'll never get past the #3 in the ranking. So now watch Murray win the whole tournament! :P

Tsonga won! I can't believe it!
I'm dancing my happy dance of joy. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
I don't think I would mind him winning either. He's just so much fun to watch.
But really, what happened to Djokovic? When I left home he was up 2 sets to 1 and had put the beatdown on Tsonga on the third set.

I'll agree with the others here, the turnaround in the Serena/Azarenka match had everything to do with Serena upping her level of play, not Azarenka choking, and I say that as someone who doesn't really like either player. Once she got down in that second set she just took her game to the next level, and Azarenka, as well as she was playing up to that point (and she was playing extremely well) just couldn't keep up. Now that she's gotten her scare out of the way and survived it, I highly doubt anyone can stop Serena from taking the title.
I wasn't able to stay up for any of Federer/Davydenko, and from the sounds of it, I'm kind of glad since I probably would have been freaking out. I'm just relieved to find out this morning that the semi streak is still alive, and there's no longer a chance of Fed losing the top ranking at this tournament.:cheer:
Also, holy crap Tsonga!:cheer:

Heninininin! :cheer2: ;)
01-27-2010, 05:33 PM
Then again who knows, if Henin makes the final she will probably be motivated and raise her game from what is has been so far.
That's a very real possibility. Plus, Serena will have all the pressure, not Henin. Also, Serena tends to run hot and cold, so I think anything is possible.
If you dont want Henin to win then hope for Venus not to pull an upset over Serena in the semis
I can understand if people don't like either Serena or Henin, but I have difficulty understanding liking Serena but not Henin, at least when it comes to their behavior (not their games). To me, Henin seems almost like a blushing bride when compared with Serena. ;)

Hope he wins! :D
