Female tennis seems to always be erratic. Half the time matches are also dealt with in two sets even against two strong players.

this is going to be a loooooooooong match.
(but it's already been better than Venus/Li)

I don't think it'll be long before I'm watching this match on mute.

Um, wtf is going on with Serena?

ETA: I think Azarkena's grunt should be illegal. She just shrieks during the entire point, even when the other player is hitting the ball. I don't understand how that CAN'T be distracting to the other player. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Yikes Serena - that's the 3rd time she's been broken today  what on earth did the Williams sisters have for breakfast today!!!!

Uh, is Serena trying to make Venus feel better about the way she played?

Pam and Mary Jo are wondering when was the last time the Williams sisters lost back to back in the QF and they can't remember - but it was two years ago in this same event (in straights). Venus lost to Ivanovic and Serena lost to Jankovic ;)

I can barely handling watching the match because of her horrific grunt. It's definitely vastly more annoying than Sharapova's. I wish Serena would knock a serve right at her vocal chords

Shrieky Viky with the first set :cheer:
(I know; I'm probably the only one rooting for her here)

BTW, has the Australian Open typically been scheduling both the women's and men's finals on the last Sunday of the tournament? I can't remember what it's been like in the past. I was thinking the women's final would be Saturday afternoon (which would be Friday night here) and the men would be Sunday afternoon (which would be Saturday night here). Instead, the women are on Saturday night and the men are at 3am on Sunday morning (US east coast). :( As much as I'd like to watch the men (and much morseo than the women), there's no way in hell I'm waking up at that time to watch.

I think the women are playing the final at night for only the second year.

Unsure about the women but the men has been at 3am EST on that Sunday morning for a few years now!!!

If Serena doesn't do something soon this match is going to be over very soon!! However Azarenka is playing very well - unlike the previous match were they were both playing badly.

And now Serena down a break in the second. Whale girl is going to screech her way to winning.

:blah: I can't believe no one has called her on how absurd her shriek is.

Congrats to Henin on your first major win back.

If Serena goes out Henin is going to roll to the title despite that she isnt even playing well this event.
