Whew, AndyRoo just took it in four from Lopez! :cheer2:

THAT was too scary for this early in the season, Andrew. But better to get it out of your system now.

Isner vs. Monfils doesn't look like a happy match. :yikes:

:kickass: Big John! Isner into his 2nd consecutive Slam R of 16.

Terrific match v. Monfils, and a great win for the stilt.

Wow shocker of all shockers. Clijsters who many were picking to win the AO gets slaughtered by Petrova 6-0, 6-1. I am in complete disbelief now. Lucky Henin will probably make the final now, even after her lame performance today.

Kim is out? Damn. I wanted her to win!

I see Serena taking this now.

That second set, the last one for which I was fully awake and alert, was frightening. Isner looked like a deer in headlights and Monfils looked like a man possessed.

^ Gael always looks like a man possessed, and I mean that with love. Such a passionate player, fun to watch, but sometimes he gets so fired up and his eyes go wild ... looks like his head is gonna spin around ala Linda Blair. Anyway, the 2nd was the set I "didn't" watch. John was unrattled and looked almost zenlike in the 30 minutes or so I saw interspersed over the final two sets.

I. Am. Floored. Not at the fact that Nadia beat Kim, as the Russian is capable of beating any player at any time. But at the absolute demolition! Holy cow.

Good for the game, which took some hits when New Mommy strolled in from a long absence and breezed to the US Open title. (Oh, please please please Kuzzie in the final from that side of the draw. Pretty please?)

OTOH ... (((( Kim ))))

 BTW, where the heck are RedSonja and sodapop these days? It just hit me that they've been completely AWOL on this thread.

(((( Sparring w/RedSonja ))))

I just can't believe Henin managed to get herself out of the merde she was facing for the first set and a half while Clijsters lost so easy! Crazy night!

EYS, we need sodapop and RedSonja back in this thread! :cheer:

 I can't either. Nadia must've scored another perfect 10! ;)

Was Kim injured or sick?

Maybe they're in Melbourne playing Ladies Doubles? ;)

Justine :cheer: I was scared after she was down a break in the second set.

While I wouldn't call Justine "Miss Congeniality" (unless you compare her with Serena ;)), I usually enjoy seeing her win, because she's such a great competitor.

I think we are going to see a Henin-Serena final now. Henin's chances of winning that will depend on how she is serving by that point, if it anything like now then definitely Serena.
