Rather randomly, there's a blogger on Huffington Post giving his opinions on each of the songs.

He has only reviewed eight so far.

Nice to see some Edyta Gorniak love, she was the only decent contestant we ever entered. ;)

Aaaaaaaaarghhh I have ALLE OLLA ALLE in my head all the time and I hate that piece of crap song. :angryfire

Wow, really surprised to see such excellent level of writing about Eurovision, heh! :respec:

OMG I got to the point of some lyric quotes:

There's no other time to making happiness. You have mistaken! We have no progressive future! I know your lying nature!

 x infinity

I've asked my uncle Joe/ But he can't speak/ Why does the wind still blow?/ And blood still leak?

:D :D :D

Boy boy boy what a fight/ Come and spend with me the night

And finally some love for the amazing Lithuanian song too. :)

But for Pasha, salvation hasn't come through her makeover: it's come through Jesus. Her official Facebook page reveals that she's a devout Christian. She recently told reporters that her spiritual journey began six years ago as she and her husband struggled to get by. "At that moment, God spoke to our hearts," she said. "We were in the car. We prayed and cried and decided for a life with Christ." As part of that, she turned down an offer to play a female bodyguard in a stage production of Chicago because it conflicted with her ability to testify for the Lord.

"We have no progressive future. I know your lying nature" may be my favourite Eurovision lyric this year.

After "I asked my Uncle Joe, but he can't speak" of course. :D

The fact she's calling god "Mr. God" in the first place...

If (according to the bookies) it's supposed to be between AZE and GER, please please please let Deutschland win.

Safura's cliched wailings are just :blah:.

Love the German song this year! They finally chose something decent!

I'm German, not patriotic at all, but for the first time for years I sort of love "our" entry (beside the Turkish one). Lena is certainly something, she's not a great singer or dancer, but she has a lot of personality, charisma and seems intelligent. There's a real "Lenamania" going on here, although right now she's a little over-exposed. You can't read a newspaper, go online, listen radio, watch TV in Germany without stumbling over here. And she's polarizing people, either you love or hate her.

She had some quite fantastic performances this year, mainly throughout the casting show (http://www.unser-star-fuer-oslo.de/videos/?sortby=views&timespan=all), but also some awful ones. We'll see how she'll come over in Oslo, if 3 minutes are enough to convince (East) Europe.

Wonder who's Alexander Rybak's favourite? ;) ;)

Lena has an extremely strange English accent when she sings that I find off-putting. It's like she's channelling Dick van Dyke. :scream:

Azerbaijan are the only country this year that seem really eager to win. So eager that it's looking a bit desperate. :yikes:

What kind of accent is that supposed to be? I wonder if she spent some time in an English speaking country, like some German pupils do at the age of 16 or 17. A German commentator said it sounds like the accent spoken in some part of London, but I wonder if he's right ......

Zokko's right, she's a ..... let's say not very talented dancer. Sometimes, her performance looks like a poor Joe Cocker imitation  Anyhow, I'd like her to place well :)

The problem with the accent for me is that it doesn't sound natural. It sounds completely affected, like she has decided to impersonate Lily Allen.

From what I know it's British/"Cockney" English, and according to Lena exactly that kind of English she's been taught. Yesterday I've watched a movie about a London working class girl around 1900 who became a famous music hall star (BBC's "Miss Marie Lloyd") and the leading Lady spoke/sung the same accent.

Personally I don't mind the accent, I find it kinda original and funny. It seems like we're so full of American English :duh: already, that anything different sounds strange to our ears.

If there's any English teacher instructing their students how to have a "specific" accent, they should be fired. :P

I've never seen the film, but I'm surprised that the BBC were able to find an actress who could do a "German trying badly to do cockney" accent.

Before you get going on your anti-American soapbox, it's not a question to me of British v American. I'd find it much less grating and more attractive if she sang naturally. I mean does she sing in German with a cockney accent too?

I like the German song more every time I listen it. I wasnt able to define her accent, but I was thinking she was more like playing with the lyrics and interpretation of the song, anyway Im really bad with accents.

Im surprised it seems its one of the favs song around Eurovision net sites, I thought it was a good but not very festival-like song.

well, she could channel her inner Sylvia Plath and call him Herr God :P.

as for Safura, I like her cliche wailing :shuffle:. and Lena is really growing on me :).
