Finally got to listen to the semifinal I'm voting in and sent my votes. Didn't know that Thomas N'Evergreen represents his native Denmark this year. He took part in the Russian selection in 2009 contending among other with his ex-wife (Polina Griffits, former lead singer of a popular Russian group A-Studio). He was quite popular in Russia in mid -2000s, performing here a lot. Marriage to Polina made him move to Russia permanently and he still resides in Moscow. However the marriage which was supposed to last long failed in a year or so, Polina left him with scandal claiming his drug-use and heavy drinking. :revenge: Thomas nevertheless is still welcome at numerous celebrity events here.

I think regional/cultural voting exists, and even existed with the pure Jury in the past (for some reason I go all :swoon: with Italy and Portugal songs), what I don´t believe is that it has any relevant influence in the winning song result at all.

Yes, the winning song needs to get votes from everywhere. You can't just rely on your :blocjudge

My line (which I repeat every year without fail ;) ) is that any country can win Eurovision. You just need the right song at the right time.

As soon as France and United Kingdom have tried a little hard they got better results.
Thanks to the vote of the jurys. Not thanks to the televote.

She'll need a european spam campaign ... at the very least ...
She has already tried self-waterboarding and it was not enough to get some attention. :P

while waiting for the semi results, I'm enjoying some obscure songs from the ESC past. and quite accidentally I came across the Greek Nationals 1988 and the song which was almost sent to Dublin that year. lmao is not enough in this case :
HIK! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r5g9PtKH6c).
unfortunately, this epic song was just a runner up and ESC 1988 greeted Clown Ha Ha Ha (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r5g9PtKH6c).
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

otoh, N'evergreen keeps growing on me :D

Israeli Harel Skaat is promoting his song in Holland this week.
He gave a short interview to escdaily (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9b1yDcD7yg&feature=related).
IBA - Israeli Broadcasting Authority (aka channel 1) asked him 5 years ago to represent Israel, but he felt that it wasn't the right time for him yet, so he refused. This year he felt he is ready to represent Israel.
Skaat was in some sort of crisis with his recording company for the last 2 years, and I guess that is why he refused to do it in past. Now that the crisis is over, he felt that he can do it.
Harel also mentions about minor changes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_kahnUNNAI&feature=related)to the original version of Milim/Words.
The new version will be released this Wed., but according to the latest reports from Israeli ESC fans it has more violins and a bit more powerful introduction and ending.

And this is for sweetsparky: Milim in Spanish (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in9QfIHq4lM). ;)

There's too much ballads this year. But this year's my favorite one is a ballad too  Georgia's song's greati think. She had a powerful voice and very beautiful woman. And other my favorites are Lithuania and Turkey. In culto is funny band. And Germany's song. Baah i don't like it.

Thanks to the vote of the jurys. Not thanks to the televote.

I thought that UK (Lloyd Webber) last year got a good result from televoters.

Oh, boy :shuffle:  Nice cameo from this pequeñito (http://www.rtve.es/imagenes/eurovision-2010---dani-super-pequenito/1272272701271.jpg)

Great mystery: why do Spanish parents not only take this kind of pics - what is quite cruel by itself - but they feel that is completely normal to share them with strangers when the innocent victim is an adult ? :drama:

Imagine living in Spain

I have a great vivid imagination!...Ah, no, I live there, I mean here :shuffle: :P

But he´s still singing all the song in Hebrew, isn´t he? :)

Thanks! Wow, that is quite a nice cover, he did a good work with the lyrics.
