The jab in question had to do with the Twitter post. That's the thing -- he'll say "I respect him as a person, I don't watch him on the show, blah blah blah," and act indifferent, and then he'll find a way to slip in an "Oh, by the way, good luck to his competitor!"

There weren't any "jabs" at Evan in that New Yorker article at all -

What New Yorker article? I saw a link to New York magazine. Or is there another link to a New Yorker article?

I doubt he would be dissing any of his fellow skaters. Now the PTB, oh yeah! He is always very nice to other skaters. He has always said that Evan deserves his medals but he doesn't know him well personally, which, in his latest interview, is exactly what Evan says about him. People make such a huge deal about this and think that any book Johnny Weir writes will be all about Evan Lysacek. Puleeze! It will be about himself and his skating career and how it was manipulated by people behind the scenes. As for rooting for Nicole on DWTS. She's the best. I like her too. If Evan is not his good bud or close colleague, why can't he root for a different dancer? And finally to those who think he's going to get sued, don't publishing companies have attorneys who check stuff out before publishing anything. It would certainly behoove them to do so. Some people need to wait until the thing just maybe becomes a reality before they have a cow about it.

Bravo! I hope that Johnny tells absolutely everything about The Establishments (USFSA, ISU and all that surrounds them).

Title? Sweet and simple: The Good Book by Johnny Weir (as in Be Good, JW.....)
But there's an "establishment" everywhere. Should it be that surprising that something as old-fashioned as figure skating has an establishment?

PS: Not to mention that it's practically de rigeur for every aspiring "famous for being famous" celebrity to shop a book proposal, regardless of whether they can actually write (or might be able to work with a writer).

Johnny can write. He has written some long, interesting journals (although he hasn't written one in almost a year, probably too busy). I would definitely be interested in what he has to say about the skating world and his life.

The meetings continue...

Off to bed and then more book meetings in the morning. The craziness unfurls...

Wasn't there a rumor :sekret: that the book is already very much on the way of being completed... like around nationals or something? ;)

I wouldn't mind reading a book from Johnny but I'd appreciate it more if he is honest about himself, rather than just "honest" about others. Bashing might be entertaining but it'd really kill his career in skating endeavors I think.

He will come out publicly when the book is released. More press to sell book.

Talk about being anti-climatic. Johnny comes out...big woo.

Yes! I don't see how so many people can bash Johnny and his book without knowing anything about it. :duh:

I don't know -- if he came out as heterosexual, wouldn't that be kind of a big woo? :P

I dream of the day when celebrities and althletes are urged/forced to come out of the straight closet. :)

Yes, but look what happened to Truman when he published just four chapters of that book in Esquire--he made himself a social pariah and was spurned by many of his friends.

Yes, but we still read it! However, I doubt anything Johnny would write like this would be about the Kennedys, etc.
