"I am an effeminate person ... but in no way does that make me less macho." - Johnny on HBO Real Sports
Johnny Weir is his own man, and he should be (http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/vancouver/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/Johnny-Weir-is-his-own-man-and-he-should-be?urn=oly,217979)

People were recently saying Weir is not participating in any causes, well look what I found on youtube. Here's is Johnny reflecting on his own experience with obesity and telling fat kids to stay off the fries.

What year is he talking about here? I want pictures.:D

What? All he said was he gained weight after laying off after an injury and how hard it was to get back to a healthy diet. No mention of obesity or fat kids :hat1:

I love Frank Deford, but I'm 100% with Johnny on this one.

Good that he's practicing the Quad again.

I just hope that he's able to put distractions behind him.

Why does he keep saying Evan had to win Worlds for the US to have 3 spots? Evan could have finished as low as 4th.

I don't think he ever stopped practicing the quad. He just hasn't tried it in competition for a long time; when he gets nervous, Johnny plays it safe.

I really hope he realizes that playing it safe in Vancouver will mean no chance at all of an Olympic medal. The field is just way too deep for anyone to medal without completely throwing down.

It's now or never...and there is no pressure for him at Olys to get a certain # of spots or anything for the team...I'd say just go for it, no regrets! :cheer:

This, in essence, is just another dubious rivalry piece. lol But it does have new pictures of them both and some new quotes.

Johnny Weir vs. Evan Lysacek: In the 2010 Olympics, these two are the real-life Blades of Glory. (http://www.details.com/culture-trends/critical-eye/201003/olympics-figure-skaters-evan-lysacek-johnny-weir-vancouver)

Three spotty teenage boys by the video games look unsure whether they should beat him up or ask for his autograph. "I love walking through this place looking like this and scaring the hockey people," he deadpans. "Although I do get called 'Ma'am' more often than I'd like." (Details)

His name is Johnny Weir, and he is everything that the sweet, athletic, midwestern, all-American Lysacek is not—an outspoken, glam, sexually ambiguous, artistic renegade. Lysacek's fans think Weir is a brat. Weir's fans think Lysacek is a bore. It's Kris Allen vs. Adam Lambert. On ice. And it's a rivalry—part hype, part reality, and 100 percent publicity tool—that skating is very happy to have

False, Adam and Kris are really good friends and it shows whenever they're onstage.

But the description relating to Evan and Johnny are almost accurate, except the boring part. Indulging in a bit of other fandom stanning. Moving on.

:blah: Just another of the same old "Evan is the all-positive, sweet, humble, talented, hard working" story with the "Johnny is the disrespectful lazy diva" touch. But I've seen too many of such articles to be actually surprised.

I didn't know that Evan had a "pubeward-pointing lightning-bolt tattoo below his waist"
