Did I mention I tried the new Marc Jacobs splashes, Apple, Biscotti and Pomegranate at Nordstrom?

Paging Prancer: your daughter may like this Apple. Much cleaner and lighter than any apple fragrance I've tried being a splash. You may actually like it too so you can share.

Biscotti--did not smell like a gourmand which is what you'd expect. Meh floral. I was disappointed. I don't know what kind of biscotti Marc Jacobs has been eating.

Pomegranate is the surprise winner. It reminded me for some reason of Fresh Sugar Fig if not literally than in character. There is something really fresh and sexy about this scent. I can't put my finger on it.

Sephora's list of notes: Pomegranate, Mandarin Blossom, Bergamot, Rhubarb, Violet, Musk, Vanilla, Amber, Exotic Fruit Accord.

Anyway, I ordered a decant from perfume court because no way I am buying the 10 oz monster bottle.

Along with it I am getting a sample of Creed Sublime Vanille and also by Creed Virgin Island Water.

Today was cold and rainy so I wore Honey and Lemon by l'Occitane for comfort.

Another couple of reviews of new summer fragrances:

Hanae Mori No.1.

It seems Hanae Mori has taken to creating a fruity floral spin off of the original every summer. This one is has the berry notes: Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Grapefruit, Mulberry Leaf, Blackberry, Jasmine, Raspberry, White Musk, Indian Sandalwood, Amber, Vanilla.

Despite an impressive list of notes it's rather linear and unsophisticated. The drydown reminds me of champagne. I do have a sample from an obliging Nordstrom fragrance sales guy but will not be plunking down the $95. It's nice but boring.

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
I did buy it as a present for my aunt's birthday. I am hoping that the house of Chanel will not let me down, although I did get a good whiff of No.5 :scream: and did my best not to make a face.

Anyway. This is a rather interesting, cute floral with the requisite white flowers (jasmine in this case) but also some fruit. I was hoping that my mom's white floral loving generation will appreciate the jasmine but the modernized, sweetened version. Not terribly unique but a lot better than most fruity florals on the market.

Someone at Makeupalley aptly referred to it as Pink Chanel. Perfect. I hope my aunt likes it although I am taking a chance with a younger fragrance, no pun intended.
