The Dannon Lite Yogurt bitch that Deep Throats a plastic container in the diary aisle and lets it drop on the floor while she stands there with an obnoxious, cutesy "I know what I did was wrong but aint' I just adorable?" look on her face.
.

Oh boy, I so agree! I am already thoroughly desensitized to bad commericals by now but this one is just :scream:. Between the slurping and the smirking, this is one commerical that makes me cringe. This and that Vlasic pickles commerical which is just slightly less gross. But that's not saying much.

I don't particularly like that gekko either, mostly because Geico is probably the least satisfying car insurance I have ever had.

On the other hand, I don't mind the Progressive woman and the FreeCreditReport guy per se. It's just that Progressive is not exactly good priced and FreeCreditReport is a borderline scam.

I think I could tolerate that one if she didn't get that stupid look on her face at the end. It would have been a big improvement if she'd let that thing drop, swing her head back and give a look that says "yeah--and you want that too, but it ain't gonna happen!" and stroll on off.

The Progressive woman must be testing well in many markets, or else how could she have been on for so long? It's been years that I have been hating her. I can't figure it out. Finally saw the one with the post office and the clown that the family wants to return. I am scared to death of clowns, but for some reason, this cracked me up!
Even if a commercial is super annoying, if it takes brand awareness to a whole new level, it's "successful". Before Flo, I had heard of Progressive but would never have remembered any details about it; now I know a lot about Progressive because of Flo's annoying but memorable ads. Same thing about Geico - although their tack has been to have several different recurring themes for their ads.

Remember the Where's the Beef ads? I hated them - but 20+ years later it's still an incredibly memorable campaign.

Here's one I despise. I can't remember the product (effective ad, huh?), but it's a woman talking about her date with the guy who was going to be Mr. Right. She talks about how awesome he was and actually comments on how he was "bringing it." He, of course, is seriously average to below-average and not worth all that fuss. But her <insert whatever condition the product treats> was acting up and she wasn't "on." Boo hoo. So she took <insert product> and "landed husband number 2." It's just AWFUL! Because God knows that only reason for a single woman to take medication is to land a husband.

It's one of the acid reflux ones--not Prilosec, but it does start with a P. I agree with you--and the commercial makes her out to be a serial bride (and I got husband #2!!!) Now there is a new one with a guy who can't enjoy the comic at the stand up club because of his heartburn, and he gets heckled for walking out--very double standard commercial there.

Well then I officially hate cute puppies...

OH REX!! And you used to be a Flo supporter! :drama: :fragile:

Any and all commercials for "male enhancement" aids.

Would someone please explain the damn bathtubs in the Cialis commercials?? Even my teenage nephew who is (in his words, an expert on all things phallic) is at a loss.

As a side note--ever notice the medical name of the drug? It's Tadalafil (or some such ending) I find it rather amusing that an ED drug has TADA! in it's chemical name.

NEVER! They have run Flo into the ground, just like they did the cavemen. After a couple of times, it stops being funny!!!

Any ad that has ambulance/siren noises.
Especially radio ads when you are in your car. It always give me a start that I should pull over, then I realize its on the radio.

I hate the lound crunch and the sounds of that little girl smacking her lips eating that pickle... ick...

What about a minivan commercial with Howie somebody (I think that's his name). He's comparing 2 vans with this little redhaired girl who I guess is supposed to be ultra cute, but who I find ultra annoying....

I don't like the bladder control medecine commercials with the balloons springing leaks? And of course that reminds me of the Charmin bears who I despise....

I pretty much hate all commercials since I feel they insult anyone with some degree of intelligence so what I do is ...
use it as a bathroom break
use it as a food/drink break
use it as a break to take care of something for the dog -- letting him outside, giving him his meds, feeding him, giving him some fresh water ...
check my email or FSU or something else on the internet
check out something on another channel
or at the very least, I mute them and carry on some conversation

I seldom sit through any commercials. I basically find them a waste of time so ... I "waste" it doing something else.

I must say I am enjoying some of the choices listed in here so please, carry on.

Oh second that one! Howie Long, he is the football commentator/former player guy. That little red haired "I'm a big girl, that's a big girl car". :yikes: I can't stand that kid either. So annoying and irritating! Makes me wanna smack her. :EVILLE:

And speaking of that--I don't get the other one he's in--"you got cop hair"

Guess all these commercial just confuse me!

That Red House commercial is the best thing ever. I'm going to be singing that all day tomorrow. "And Hispanic people too!"

My least favorite are those damn Swifter Wet Jet commercials. Makes me wish I'd never bought one. I'm totally squicked out by the forlorn mop in the hot tub especially. It's an old one, but it's for male enhancements--the kind of 50s-type see-Dick-run type commercial with the whistling and the big, Stepford grin? And the one with Mike Ditka throwing a football through a tire swing. Symbolism, anyone? :yikes:

I do feel a bit bereft--I haven't seen half the commericals you all are talking about. :wuzrobbed And no, it's not because I'm a TV snob. I'm just robbed of bad commercials!!!

A commercial I've only ever seen on UniversalSports (aside: I'm really amused by who their advertisers consider to be the US audience)

Oh, yes. I'm still chuckling over the vibrator ad they ran late at night during the GPF rebroadcasts. Interesting commentary on what they think of skating fans!

I kind of like that one because it's so random.

Most of the time I don't look at the tv when commercials are on. I don't even realize it, but I hear ads over and over again and think I know them - and then one day I'll be looking at the tv when it comes on and realize I've never actually SEEN it. Sometimes I'm very surprised

BTW, last night I saw one of those "freeze" commercials - the ones where they freeze a scene in a movie and the actor starts talking to the camera about...whatever it is they're selling (I don't even know!) - only this one had McLaughlin and Brubaker! They froze it in the middle of a throw split twist and they ended with Rockne saying "who chose this music, anyway?". It was cute - and I think that's the first time I've seen them in any sort of advertising at all. Good for them for getting the gig! :)
