Going to be at the Boise State meet in Reno this weekend....expect reports. Maybe even live if there's WiFi at the venue and I can twitter on my Ipod Touch.....

That would be great! I am a San Jose State student, and would be interested in hearing reports on the team or if there is a particular gymnast who does well. I have heard good things about Thomasina Wallace.

Is it horrible that I take a small amount of pleasure in the fact that Shalya Worley is struggling just a bit in her NCAA start? Karma is a you know what...

 No. Though I don't know her, I went from :swoon: over her pre-Beijing to :scream: post-Beijing.

She can struggle for a bit longer and fight through it before I get back on the train. :saint: I do like her beam routine.

Remind us what she did again. I only vaguely recall.

I'm not 100% sure on this either, but from what I remember, they had done a lot of fundraising to get Shayla's family to Beijing before the team was even named. After she missed out on the team, they decided to go to China anyways, and Shayla blogged about her experience as an attendee and did a lot of complaining about the Chinese culture and pointed out very little positive aspects about their trip. There may be more to it than that, but that's the parts of it that I remember a year and a half later.

Tonight (Wednesday) there is a meet with Michigan State @ Michigan. It starts at 7PM EST... I'm about to head out for Ann Arbor to attend! Here's a link to the livestats (http://www.mgoblue.com/livestats/w-gym/), also check the UM homepage (http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/w-gym/mich-w-gym-body.html), there should be free video of the meet (they don't have a link up as of right now, though).

Oh cool! I can watch that meet before the FDs start airing live on NBC. :D

Random: Is Hollie Vise still competing for Oklahoma? I think she's either a junior or senior this year but I don't know how she's doing at all. I also have no clue if she's still only doing beam/bars or if she added more to her repertoire this year. Thanks if you happen to have any info! :)

Yes she is, and she's having an awesome year so far. She's doing floor again, youtube (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hollie+vise+2010&search_type=&aq=f) her. :) This year is the best Hollie has looked since 2004 Olympic Trials.

I'm excited, Oklahoma will be competing at Michigan State later in the season, so I'll get to see Hollie in action! I'll try to get some videos then! :)

A few Big Ten meets yet tonight, Iowa @ Penn State, and Michigan State @ Minnesota, and also Oklahoma @ Illinois.

Wonderful!! :biggrinbo She looks fantastic and PLEASE let Oklahoma get to the Super Six this year so I can see her on TV again. I've adored her gymnastics since way back in 2001 when she was just an itty bitty thing and I'm glad her college career is going pretty well. I hope she has a fantastic senior year this year and maybe gets an NCAA title or two at some point! :cheer:

Thanks for posting the videos. I've been busy this weekend and didn't have a chance to search for anything. You rock! :respec:

 UCLA tumbled 6 spots. Not to worry, though.. things will be a lot more accurate once RQS kicks in after the 6th meet.

Biggest surprise of the season for me is Kentucky. They might be the dark horse to make it to Nationals this season.

Been frustrating to watch Michigan State tumble down the rankings... they had to count an 8.825 on floor this last week. I imagine all of their numbers will get better when they can throw out some of the low scores. Beam is respectable, at least. :) They're hitting that event like they never have before.
