Well, there's a pool that seems to be able to bring people back to life...ie Ben but sometimes it doesn't work so well.

I both hate it and love it when the Lost writers make me pity someone like Ben who does not deserve my pity. They made me fall in love with Sayid and look what happened to him so I'm still not trusting Ben.

Count me in as one who likes the flash sideways, nice to see the characters in a different light. I think these sideways flashes are going to be very important and we won't know why until the end of the series.

Widmore probably found the island through Eloise Hawking. He was with her when Desmond was in the hospital after Ben shot him. He also seemed very happy that Des was o.k., so I think he switched sides at some point and is now on Jacob's side. He also didn't want Locke to die, so he can't be with Smokey.

^^ agreed. And I think Widmore doesn't know what's happening on the island right now and his arrival is going to make things very interesting for everyone. I would love to know more about his grand scheme for the island so we can see how the current island event impact his plans.

I would love a Widmore-centric episode. Of all the characters, except perhaps Jacob and Flocke (whose ultimate personas I think will be relatively one dimensional, as is Richard's IMO), he's the most mysterious. He's been a presence for many seasons, and yet we've only seen snippets of him and his life on and off the island, with little insight into his motivations outside of what a decidedly biassed Ben has said, and of course at any point Ben could have been lying.
