How great for Adlerteg to win a medal. :)
It should be. The Chinese cost Tan the gold when they had her start out on the law bar. I think maybe expecting Komova to go 12 for 12 was a bit much.

They probably have Tan start out on the low bar for the sake of variety. If she didn't, she'd spend like 95% of her routine on the high bar.

Well that's how most Chinese routines are constructed. :lol: She's guaranteed 5tenths off for every dead hang. (now personally I think girls she be made to be on the low bar at least twice) but now that they aren't made to the Chinese need to take advantage.

The open ended scoring system has spelled wonders for China and now Russia and not so much for Romania (and coming the USA)
That's because they code-whored the 10.0 system, which was a deductive system - easier routines with less room for deductions. How else would Gina Gogean end up with so many medals? (To her credit, Gogean was doing really interesting things early on, like a full-in on beam, but I think she got beaten down by the medals, medals, medals strategy of the post-revolution Romania.)

Well that was a whole point off for that brush judging by the score. Still 3 golds for Komova.
Brushing the mat is a 0.5 deudction; hitting the mat with your feet is 1.0. It looked like a brush to me. Of course there were additional technical errors on the skill as well which add up.

How did the other EF go? I see Komova won vault and I think from your posts she won bars with a mistake.

I will NOT miss these commentators!!!! So Abad was more of a dark horse last night but he's been out-darkhorsed by the Turkish and Mongolian gymnasts winning silver and gold on vault. Erm ok :lol:

Tan pretty much perfect on beam aside from a small step on her landing. 15.550!

Yeah, she isn't. And I thought Tan got a 6.5 but I'm totally half-asleep so I probably am totally wrong :lol:
