Can someone who understands how USAGym rules work explain why John Orozco's petition onto the senior team was rejected? Is it because his injury is serious, and he will be out a while? Didn't compete night 2 and he's young/first year in seniors? All of the above or something else?

You know what I would just love? If someone said feck it with the rules and did a 3 layout stepout series on beam. I would have a gymgasm!! I don't think it is against the rules but there isn't any reason for doing it as you get no connection bonus, right? It would be the best throw back ever but it has to be done by someone like Komova. I don't care to be reminded on Dawes' series on beam. Or worse, Strugs!!

What about Dawes 4 layout sequence she did in an exhibition?

I was wondering if he'd be able to petition onto to the team or if there was some way of making it mid-season. I'm really sorry he was rejected. I enjoyed him a lot, and hate to think of him missing a year of possible international events.

Komova is EXACTLY what gymnastics needs, it's like watching a Soviet from 25 years ago - and that's DEFINITELY a good thing. As usual when I like a gymnast, it's not necessarily what she does but the way she does it. I could watch her all day; it's her amplitude, the way she holds her body, her body tension and all those little extra bits of attention to detail that about 99% of gymnasts in recent times have not had. For example, it's a move which so many others do, but her layout series on beam is so extra beautiful - her arms, the height she gets, her legs, the form; it just seems to float over the surface of the beam. Like you all, I just hope she can keep going and stay healthy.

The Cuban gymnast won men's floor.

She lands the Amanar again. Small step forward. 15.600.
Second vault DTY (I think - I'm in no teknik). Small hop back. 15.025
15.312 overall :)

Everything is a Tsukhara to these guys  I think they learned a vault name and are going with it.

The Amanar looked a bit underrotated. Not really a worry at this point. She has two years to perfect it.

Too much juice on the double. I wonder if we'll see her upgrade it too a higher degree vault. Maybe a Rudi or Cheng.

Personally, I'd like to see a female try the Produnova again.

Yeah, I agree that it looked a bit underrotated. But I think she's improved that vault considerably since she started attempting it.

Bulimar has the weirdest preflight execution, the way that her legs are so spread apart like that.

Not sure playing it safe and not doing the DTY was the best tactic by team Sasada.

I don't know if Viktoria should risk injury by learning another harder vault, unless she may feel its a better option than her Amanar. Her time would be better served upgrading bars for example.
