Too bad Tabitha Yim got injured right before Camp because the U.S. desperately needed a great FX worker who could do all those stupid dance leaps and jumps to beat the Romanians.
At Trials, didn't McCool get a lot of credit for connections on beam that she didn't get credit for in Athens? I heard that if she was scored properly at Trials, she would not have been in the top 2, but that was years ago and I don't remember.
Poor Humphrey sort of got lost in the shuffle. She always considered herself a FX worker, but in Athens, she qualified and ended up with silver medal on the UB finals, an event that she didn't know she was strong on. One thing I give to Fong and Armine, they helped her improve on that apparatus.
Athens was just a lot of misfortune for the U.S. team. From Kupets's injury forcing her to downgrade difficulty, to Memmel not being in top form, to Yim getting injured, and even McCool suffered a wrist injury before Athens as well...
I forgot all about McCool's connections on beam. Those were super questionable...

Did anyone catch the American Cup today? There was some great gymnastics from the girls (Rebecca was great, that Alexandra girl was really awesome, and I really enjoyed the Canadian and Venezuelan girls) but the guys at some points, especially on PBars, were like watching the ODs from Torino (aka, a disaster). :yikes: They had some of the weirdest mistakes today and not only on the PBars. I'm glad Jon Horton did pretty well (aside from PBars) and I liked that other guy from the USA too. Fabian seemed out of sorts all day though and none of the other men really stood out for me today. I'm glad I got to watch it but I hope the men don't suck all season.

I happened to catch that it was on, but hadn't realized it was a half hour away in my hometown! :( When I saw Worcester, MA I freaked out. I would have gone for sure.

Oh gosh, that sounds like fun! I've only gone to two gymnastics shows and one collegiate meet so I would love to have that experience sometime too. I actually live only two hours away from Indy and I've NEVER gone to any of the championships that have been held there. No clue why we've never gone! :( Anyway, I hope you have a great time and please report back to us about your time there! :)
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm only 20 minutes away from the XL Center and figured that it was too good of an opportunity to miss.
Anyone heard anything about Sam Shapiro? I know she was injured some time ago but i have not heard anything about her in quite some time. :(

I believe she is still injured. :( I think she could potentially be a gorgeous gymnast this year, I really hope we get to see her at some point. Her bars could be really useful to the US in TF!
